Ehmry Bay – Legion of the Iron Hawk [Hawk]
Thank you Anet for WvW :).

I’ll give em all the credit in the world for making a new age version of the best type of pvp game play ever… but I also give em all the credit for making it completely zerg biased and having fail, game breaking mechanics in it.
I’ll call it a love/hate thing.

I agree, despite the bickering, I think that the way arenanet setup the WvWvW was great. I constantly talk about how I wish warhammer or daoc had a supply system like in GW2 because it makes camps that much more important.
In WAR, you had those extra camps that didn’t mean anything to capture really. But with the fact that they provide supplies, and you need supplies to upgrade keeps and build siege…it makes them sooooo much more important.
I also like the dolyak idea, but I think it is unfortunate that you no longer get anything for escorting them (Though if you do escort them and they die,y ou sometimes get rewards, strange.)
But yes, despite a few flaws and hackers, I think the WvWvW setup is great. The only thing that would make it even greater and is a super easy fix at this point would to stop server transfers. — but I won’t go into that.
Either way, Kudos! I enjoy the 3 sided fights, the weekly changing of who we fight as well as server rankings. Just need to stop those darn free server transfer! :P
I am not the youtube spoonerism, nor did I know about him prior to selecting this name.
*Google spoonerism, it is a real word.
I love WvW. It’s my main GW2 activity. It has some great concepts, and its levelling components and separation from PvE are unique aspects that drew me to the game in the first place.
But ANet’s ambition clearly exceeded their technical limitations and their design work. I’ll sign on to a “thank you” thread after I can go a week without losing a fight to some bug, exploit, or glitch.
(I only came to the forums today to see if there was an official response to Broken Thing of the Week this time around, the turtle thing which makes large groups invulnerable to spells that are designed to deal with large groups. Highly related to my discontent above.)
Despite many of the gripes, I do think it is f the best and most ambitious PvP implementations to date and for that….well done folks.
+1 to the thread starter, and to all who love WvW
I’m with Balidore…love/hate. I wish it was better, but understand nothing is perfect. Anet deserves credit for it, I just think most who love W3 would like to see it go to the next level…if nothing else, to maintain/increase interest in participation.
For me, this IS end game.
WvWvW is the most fun I’ve had since Shadowbane. Although it lacks some of the aspects of what I enjoyed in that game, WvWvW is a breath of fresh air. Well done A/Net for bringing something like this to the masses.

I just wanted to create a positive thread expressing my gratitude to Anet for creating a wonderful WvW experience that I have gotten many hours of fun out of. It’s not perfect, but it is good and will improve.
I almost feel like it IS perfect. Maybe I’ve just been starving hard over the past 10 years for some form of 3 way team-based PvP, but what GW2 seems to have going on now seems pretty awesome to me. I dare say it feels even more fun and dynamic than the original DAOC, and I’m fairly biased.

Game is wonderful fun yah there are bugs and yah they suck but i have faith in Anet fixing them and so that is the saving grace. My last game SWTOR I at no time got the sense that the developer had a friggin clue nor would they fix anything. I do not sense that with Anet. Super game Anet
Probably the most fun I’ve had in an MMO (besides actually starting to play my first MMO way back when).
It’s the combination of classes that are so much fun to play in WvW and WvW itself.
Server imbalances and the snow-ball effect have to be corrected, But once that is done, I think it will be long-term fun.
WvW will be my end game after I got my legendary
