Dear Arenanet,

I know currently there are many mixed feelings and opinions floating around because of the recent change back to the “old” -> original borderlands.

But still, I’d really like to express my personal grattitude towards you for doing this change, I’ve been playing since the 1st beta of GW2 and I always was a vivid WvWvW player and roamer, I’ve already expressed my feelings towards the issues with WvWvW , PvP, balancing etc., already a few times in this forum, but always in a small matter so barely anyone really noticed or recognized my issues / rants with WvWvW. But I always was, to make it short, on the side of the WvWvW playerbase who thought there is to much PvE input in the new borderlands as well as the overall design with all the heights etc. was just not fit for large scale PvP battles and so on…

Altough I myself, kittenented the desert borderlands to the last bit in its current state got kind of cosy with it during the end, I am still very gratefull and thankfull you brought the old borderlands back, you can just feel and see how much more time and development and thought went into those maps during the development before releasing GW2 to the public, not that the desert borderlands were super bad, but they just didn’t fit very well or very tight with the alread established WvWvW meta kind of gameplay.

But who knows what’ll happen to those borderlands within the next 3 month’s if you rotate borderlands all 3 month / quarterly. Maybe you’ll surprise us big time when the deset borderlands come back so we don’t want to have the alpine borderlans back, surprise us =)

But to make it “short”, tonight was the FIRST evening in 3 years I’ve seen all borderlands having an queue of up to 10 people and more, so I hope you really learned a lesson out of this, WvWvW players are not PvE or mainly PvP players, we’re WvWvW players and we fight to support, protect and bring glory to our server, and we want to be heard, recognized and supported just as much as in the other 2 game types you offer.

I think it meant much to many players to be able to play again after so long and it was good to see queues for the BLs again and not for EBG for once.

Was super great fun on FA tonight out in the old borderlands. I had forgotten how much the alpine areas encouraged huge open field battles. No lag, tons of players fighting each other……sheer, hilarious, craziness!!!!! Absolutely loved it!!!!

And I so agree with this quote from the OP. Although I didn’t have more than 2 queues to deal with.

I did some roaming on my Druid main tonight on our ABL and JQ’s, and I had a BLAST! I found some solo roamers, some two-men and three-men groups – both ally and enemy running around engaging in spontaneous skirmishes! Roamers were out and about and having a ball on the ABL’s. I won some battles, lost some battles… it was great!

Mannnn… I farted around with this 4 man group for about10 or so minutes, pew-pewing them from a safe distance and being a nuisance. >:) Then they messed around and got too close to our garri south of NET and jumped down the cliff. Well, that’s when some of my people showed up and we “laid the wood to them!” Ahhhh… such occurrences were not as common on the DBL’s.

Yes, I totally agree. The big fights on jq bl during eu prime yesterday were amazing. I had so much fun, it was so good to see the map again. Now I can go back to my borderland defense duty, even when it’s harder than before, but that’s no surprise. The last months has taken tolls.

I will enjoy the rotation of the bls. I had gotten used to the dbls, and some good changes had been made to it, so I will enjoy seeing both bls in a rotation. I have to admit, though….it was somewhat nostalgic to see the Alpine bls back.
