Q:
The Current Matchmaking System
Current matchmaking system is about 3 months old. Anet clearly said that before changing or adjusting this system they need some data to collect.
Yeah, 3 months on a 1 week cycle = 12 data points. Isn’t that enough to show that this system is busted and not working.
And yet it IS working, at least for some servers.
We have had way better match-ups most of the time since the new system was added for one.
Just because it doesn’t work well for your server doesn’t mean it don’t work well overall.

You literally just provided my own counter-argument. Just because it works well for your server doesn’t mean it works well for everyone else. Infact, it isn’t working well for MOST players.

It isn’t?
Based on http://mos.millenium.org/ most of the current match-ups are actually quite close, while back with the old system there could be weeks or even months where people faced servers that they always lost with 50k points against every single week.

I am agree, the current matchmaking system sucks! We have often very imbalanced matchups and this is not interesting for low servers, but even for high servers because of no resistance.
For instance, look at the matchup Elona Reach vs Gandara vs Far Shiverpeaks. This is n°3 vs n°13 vs n°16. Such things should not happen, Elona Reach is no match for them, both servers are going to be repel of WvW!
the matchup system isn’t the problem, the problem is server imbalance.
once you have server imbalance, all a matchup system can do is control which servers get bad matches. under the old system, the same servers got bad matches over and over. in the new system, bad matches are more spread out.
but somebody will always get a bad match unless a solution is found for server imbalance.
