The Deep Emotional Pain of Being Unwanted
If you don’t write for a living, you should.
FYI … not all T1 servers get the attention BG gets, but we definately get more attention then what you have had to go through. Are yuo guys reporting any of this or making anet aware of any of it?
It’s all Lord of the Flies out here, and we’re all the short kid with glasses nicknamed piggy.
…and that did not end well for Piggy…
Pretty much since launch. The little darlings in T1 get special treatment.
I love the OP’s writing, too.
The reality is a bit different — on TC, I rarely see the ANet tag and it’s usually when folks are making the rounds or are taking the night off to just play, not to moderate the game. I suspect that it was mostly a matter of timing that you happened to see lots of ANet tags, i.e. the average BGer probably doesn’t see any more official action than you do on ET.
That said, I would love it if moderators would patrol through each map — just as a police present often discourages illegal behavior, folks seeing ANet tags pop up frequently & randomly should reduce the number of people who see if they can get away with something.
Sadly, I have yet to catch one of them with my mouse long enough to go through the motions to grab a name to report.
As someone who’s never even seen t1 wvw, how are they cheating?

Get screenshots, with Enemy Nameplates always on. You can submit that via exploits@arena.net or via support ticket. (Include time+date, map, location, and any other identifying data.)
You can also try using the in-game /bug reporting tool, which won’t grab a screen (unless you click that button quickly), but will automatically grab the time+date, map, and location, so you can just describe what you saw and get back to fighting.
PS you might want to strip your original post of any identifying details — the forum moderators will delete posts that “name & shame” (they want us to use back channels) (plus, you could get infracted and who needs that?)

+1 piggy for this.

I feel your pain: I’m playing this game for D/D thief which was murdered on June 23th 2015 – he was pretty sick even before that.
I wanted to get some adult toys instead of HoT as anet basically told me to go and kitten myself. Yeah, I do feel unwanted
ETA: All bug reports I sent in or all stuff I complained about on the forums took a while until they were fixed, I don’t think it’s just you or only the lower tiers. Although I haven’t been long in gold – but then again: Devs are really rare on EU.

As a member of Eredon Terrace I’m faced with the terrible realization that, just like my parents didn’t want me, the GMs don’t want me either. But it isn’t just me they don’t want. It’s all of the low tier servers. What opened my eyes was the time Eredon Terrace spent on Blackgate. One day I was in tier 8, a place that Dante once wrote a book about, and the next day I was in tier 1, a place I’d only heard about it whispered rumors.
The difference in quality of life was astounding. In tier 8, entire guilds would sometimes form based on code-level exploits of the gw2 client. Guilds such as Ten Speed, guild tag FAST. Those people were fast. They could run an omega all the way across the map in dozens of seconds. They were so fast that gates and walls were nothing to them. They tunneled through them like Buackroo Bonzai tunneled through that mountain. I don’t know if they were all named John, but if they were, there wouldn’t have been a John Smallberries among them, because that guild cheated constantly for nearly a week, and their berries much have been HUGE.
When I was in tier 1, there was a bugged waypoint. Within about ten minutes GM characters started to spawn into the map. Lots of them. It seemed like they were everywhere. And they fixed the bugged waypoint. It was if people in tier 1 were important. More important than I’d ever felt in tier 8.
But Eredon Terrace isn’t in tier 1 anymore. Tier 8 is gone, admittedly, but despite the new, higher, number we are still in Tier Last. And Tier Last isn’t a great place to be if you need help from the GMs. It’s been more than a week since the premise of Ten Speed/FAST resurfaced in Tier Last, even if they didn’t reuse the guild name and probably aren’t the same people. The fact remains, there are some speedy people running around WvW. They are so fast they can even run while downed.
No GMs have come. It’s all Lord of the Flies out here, and we’re all the short kid with glasses nicknamed piggy.
Omg, lol, i think i ran into the really speedy “Fast” guild you mentioned. I don’t think that was their name but it was amazing how downed state did not require a rez to be undowned state (and i don’t mean thief rez’s either, they simply used ‘magic?’)
It’s a sad story but I can’t stop laughing with the reference to Lord of the Flies.
+2 piggy for me
This is really one of the best posts I’ve read in a long while. There is truth here in these words.
Back in the early days of TC, we would see the tags. See them glowing like eyes in the dark. The GMs would taunt us from within the Skritt caves, attempting to get us to enjoy the food buffs they left behind. But we would not be suckered in so easily.
Dulfy used to appear more often as well. Then megaservers came. Upon that dark day, when the large circular discs would appear in the sky and Will Smith was nowhere to be found. It was sad. Very sad. We were left with Jeff Goldblum making suggestive poses once again and nothing else.
Should we all transfer there to at least assist you in observing these people as they pass by? Is there a signal flare to summon GMs? What would you put in the circle?
