we’ve been talking about this for months, Anet released the new culling few days ago i think. and i think its TERRIBLE. the old culling was so much better for me, and i mean SO MUCH better. is it only me who thinks that ?
you do know there are several thread about this already in the very same forum? Oh wait probably not, yet another person incapable of S E A R C H I N G first.
I think everyone knows the new system is a fail. Let’s wait and see how ANET addresses it.
It is different… not better.
It ruins so many potentially great fights because everyone ends up all mixed in with one another. Hmmm, maybe its time to get back on my warrior…

It’s better, I know how my guild moves so I don’t need to see them.
I do need to see how many enemies there are and not let them flank me.
For those that say treat all other groups as zergs and start ranged, I say bust the front line and kill the Zerg.

Cant say it’s bad, for me it’s actually better than before, I fought some huge zergs and I could see them all, and I had huge problems before the patch with not seeing enemies.
I think it’s better. Still there at times but I’ve never ran Ito invisible zergs, and were up against kaineng, a Zerg server

I agree 100%, the new culling is a great improvement and thieves did indeed get a lot easier to fight since they dont get 3sec of free invisibility every time they stealth, now they get 0.5 or so. I see them almost at the same time as their little swush thingie on the ground.

Nope. Through extensive testing, thieves still have 2 seconds or so of added invisibility. Even when away from large groups in the middle of nowhere. This is tested on very high end machines with very fast connections. Not a single thing has changed.
A thief who uses pistol/dagger can fight you in complete stealth while only appearing for a second before stealthing again. The culling allows him to attack before being loaded in.
Mesmers who use torches for invisibility can also abuse this.
The culling did not fix a single thing network-wise. It only improved player model loading times on lower end computers. Even with this new player model thing, my friend on a lower end computer can’t see his party members sometimes during a 5v5 skirmish. Never happened before.
On my end, it’s better than it was. The only downside is not being able to see allies as quickly, but in practice they don’t tend to disappear from view that much.
It’s much better, but it’s till big problem.
Look at the bright side – no matter how bad the new culling is, at least we dont have to see it.

The new system is better for me and I haven’t run into a situation where I’ve been killed by an invisible mass of enemies yet, which was happening to me with the old system. I did have trouble seeing allies when we were organizing a golem rush though, but overall it’s an improvement for me.

Maybe it working good at the US-servers, but at the EU-servers - we all just goin crazy from that new system!
I kinda like it more than before, its far from perfect yet tho.
Previous build were worse, so keep this one and improve it.
