We joined EB a couple of days ago and tried this tactic out and it worked out better then we could imagine!

In all seriousness (assuming you were not just having some fun with the vid), the problem would be timing. If you mistimed your initial “collapse” the first couple of unlucky people would eat all the AoE.

People (not saying you specifically) sometimes tend to forget where the ball up and crash mentality came from: the AoE cap.

I’d like to see this happen in an actual open field. Water + wall + siege + enemy paying 0 attention to you played a strong factor in this tactic’s effectiveness. Without the wall they could escape and rally to crash you directly.

On kodash people tend to play “the kodash cloud”. They basicaly refuse to stay sticky to the commander and run all over the place. Its something people make fun off because its a nooby thing to do but from my observation its suprisingly effective in open field fights. The enemy melee train has no target it can focus on and runs randomly around getting hit from every direction, means the caster backline cant hide behind the frontline. Its bascialy like a pack of antelopes handles a predator attack, spreading out makes it very hard to actually kill anything.

This can work very well in open field, mostly versus really melee heavy team compositions.

It takes practice to pull off, everyone needs to be capable of staying out of the melee ball and not getting caught while watching the driver and staying ready with nukes on the bomb points. It’s an attrition or wait&bait style of fighting. Don’t nuke the melee ball, kite and CC it to break it up, then focus out of position players in the backline or melee players who’ve been pulled and boon-stripped. Regroup for water blasts on enemy downed so the blast damage finishes them then pull off (this should take no more than 3 seconds and don’t do it if the melee train is close enough to counterbomb).

With a good driver it’s a great way to counter a standard melee/backline setup. It’s confusing as heck to their driver because there is no clear focal point and regroups seem to occur randomly.

It doesn’t work well in GvG though. Mostly because the terrain in OS is too tight to allow much kiting or spreading. Every player needs to be capable of full disengage for this to work and you simply can’t just book it into the seats in a GvG.
