WvW in its current state is too much of a nuisance to be a requirement for monthlies. The queue times (the largest issue) can easily last hours – especially if you are on a highly populated server like Henge of Denravi. In addition, lower-end computers are essentially denied the ability to gain their monthlies because of the absurd amounts of lag that can strike anything lower than an i7 processor. I run an i5-2500k and a Geforce 570 card and I found myself constantly destroyed by lag spikes in zerg situations.

If the goal was to promote players to experiment with PvP, then all PvP modes should suffice. The end result is the same – you have killed a player.

I actually agree with this. I’m running on a laptop, so I feel your pain a million times over. I hate running low graphics but in WvW I just have to.

Don’t worry about it, the monthly reward is garbage anyway. It rewards the same amount of exp at the end as the daily reward, and about a quarter of the money (I got less than a silver for it). No crafting mats like the zone completion reward, and unless 20 mystic coins is incentive for you, it’s not worth it.

Unless you did it completely on a low level alt, you could probably just vendor the 500 items you need to salvage to finish the monthly reward and buy the mystic coins outright. It’s a complete waste of time.

Seriously? I got 5 silvers for the daily and what, not even 1s for the monthly?
I do hope they remove the player kills requirement. Does not make sense to oblige player to PvP. Many players only join the game for purely PvE, not to mention that it is impossible to join WvW for some players who can only access the game at peak hours.

Maybe change it to something like “Finish 5 dailies” or “Revive 20 players or NPCs”?

I, as a PvPer agree.
I don’t like players being forced to do something they are likely rubbish at as part of a pve goal. It lessens the experience for me.

honestly, i finished the monthly requirement after only a few days. but, i do play off-hours a lot, and my server doesn’t have that long of queues

Same, It’s actually taken me longer to get the salvage requirement.

Personally the WvW count hasn’t been a problem for me and I come from a high population server too. The issue I see here is if WvW is unplayable on lower spec systems. If people can PvE but not WvW then the monthlies should be reviewed.

A warrior, a guardian, and an elementalist walk into an open field…
