Only being able to hit 5 people at once is terrible in WvW.

5 people against 40-50, and the 40-50 don’t just have a size advantage in GW2, they have complete immunity from almost all attacks from the smaller force. if theyve got 10X the numbers, why do they need to have 90% immunity from attacks coming from the smaller force?

here’s what I mean by 90% immunity. If the group of 5 perfectly manages to stack the zerg of 50 players into a space of 1 area effect, they will each only be able to hit 1 out of 10 enemies. 90% of the zerg will be immune to each of the 5 players.

So to hit everyone on average once, each player needs to make 10 casts. At a normal channel time of around 3 quarters of a second it would take about 8 seconds to just hit everyone 1 single time.

At the same time, EACH person in the 50 man zerg can hit EVERY single person in the small group with each cast they do.

Having a force 10X larger than your enemy is advantage enough, giving 90% immunity to a force 10X larger is quite obviously there to just make zergs unbeatable.

Why do zergs need some artificial advantage like that?

Downed state should go too, its just so bad.

This is done for technical reasons, not to give zergs an advantage.

If you’re a 5 man group up against 40 then your AoE hitting only 5 people is the least of your worries.

This is just a simple way of putting a damage cap on AoE which is perfectly reasonable. WoW did the same thing albeit with a different mechanism and no-one felt the need to complain about that.

RAISE THE LIMIT I SAY! 50 people stupid enough to group up under my lavafont should die, instantly, also remove the downed state its annoying when trying to take on larger numbers….I CANT FINISH THEM ALL THAT FAST!

BTW, no sarcasm, i hate zergs, they should die by my AOE as they’re inferior life forms, i shouldn’t have to waste as much time as i do in dealing with them.

Because elementalists give me bad feels bro. Feedback doesn’t work on them like it does on rangers and then I die Srsly though without the damage cap AoE would become stupidly OP in WvW. You just need moar eles + Time Warp.

But yeah downed is incredibly annoying but it is fun waiting for people to come in and rez their downed friends and then smashing them as well.

It would discourage zerging, i dont see the problem here.

id also be happy with a limit of 10 players.

You would open a lot of other cans of worms. Be lucky you don’t hit more than 5 people. You would see nothing but instant deaths to AOE. Imagine how a 20 vs 20 fight would go. Imagine being a melee in that AOE. You think it is hard now being a melee. Imagine you dropped an AOE on 20 people and they had retaliation. Siege weapons would be instant kill zones. Man, I hate to think how dumb WvW would be with all the instant deaths unlimited AOE would provide.

Tsym a guild on dragonbrand has DECIMATED a 80 person zerg with 20 people, It just takes Strategy. A 5 man group in large warfare (which is what WvW represents) is kinda limited in what they can do. Honestly you wanna do better get more people together and ORGANIZE! Use your abilities and think outside the box.

I’m on Dragonbrand — you guys do this by using mesmer portals to gain an advantage using problems with the game’s engine. I don’t take issue with it, because anyone who cares about winning zerg vs zerg fights SHOULD be abusing mesmer portals, until the rendering issue is fixed (and after, but it won’t be quite as powerful). That being said, please don’t act like it’s some incredible accopmlishment, or tactical genius.
