Short disclaimer: I’m playing on Fissure of Woe and am still active in WvW.

Greetings all,

I’ve had some nice roams yesterday with my ranger, accompanied by a friendly warrior. We were messing about in the Eternal Battlegrounds, trying to recapture all our stuff in our corner.

After breaking open the gate of Mendon’s (under server X’s control at the time), we were able to have the champ killed. BUT then all of the sudden we were just swarmed (read: swarmed) by players from server Y. Indeed: they stole our tower.
Ok, kitten happens, life’s a kitten, and what not..

SO my warrior friend and myself roam a bit around until the heat in our corner cooled down. Then we re-attempted to take Mendon’s, now without any issue (server X and Y were having a nice battle at SM). So then we decide to take the keep (controlled by server X), and also here: When we brought down the gate and started hitting on the champ, again a swarm of server Y. Indeed, a true keep steal!

What shocks me the most is that server Y never tried to take a tower of server X in our corner of EB. They only stole what we tried to cap..

Nevertheless, long story short: Are there any other low popped WvW servers that have noticed being picked out? And how do you deal with this?
We just started roaming again with the two of us, clearing some upped camps and playing hide and seek with the swarms

They aren’t picking on you, they’re just being smart. They see an opportunity for easy ppt, they take it.

There is a big population difference between FoW and X. We fall somewhere in the middle and the matchup score reflects that.

The captured tower and keep were also controlled by server X at the time.

I do sieze the opportunity whenever I can get a tower or keep without the trouble of setting up siege. No conspriracy there. X server did not contact us to “defend” their tower or keep against you.

I don’t think you can escape the feeling of being picked out when your server has the least numbers on field.

Even when the numbers are equal, 2 servers are bound to attack the third at same time. At those times you will experience the same feeling.

Just acknowledge the situation and make the most of it. With just 2 people on the map, I would opt for roaming rather than tower/keep captures.

Oh, I wasn’t hinting at all to that.. I have quite some people on my flist from RoS, and I do know that FR and RoS aren’t friends at all.. :-)

Aye, as we did.. But of course, when you see the PPT go so low (capping camps the entire afternoon does almost nothing for the score), it’s normal to try to get a tower/keep..

Nevertheless, thank you for your replies, and maybe we’ll meet on the battlefield..

And a big thank you to the little WvW people on FoW left: It shows we have ambition, but unfortunately at the moment we heavily lack the numbers..

The brutal reality is that many commanders actually actively avoid FoW and only go for it as a last resort, who wants to PvD a whole corner when there are probably tasty fights to be had.

In my opinion we are low on numbers ourselves, but FoW is taking it to the next level. There is literally no presence from you guys, have taken all your border with 5 guys at roughly 8-9pm when looking for some smallscale action. I honestly don’t think its going to get better, only worse. Sorry to say nice things about your oldest rivals but Vabbi actually put up a fight, FoW really doesn’t.

Problem is that there are ~4 tiny servers and match-ups are obviously in threes…do the math. You’re only hope is that either 1 server grows much larger or RoS and Fort Ranik gets much smaller. Is this going to happen in the short term? If you think not I would consider moving to where you will get the most enjoyment. ’Cos ultimately your own personal enjoyment is all that should matter.

They ran you over because that is easy karma. They avoid the other side because you know… fights is hard.

My suggestion come up and visit T2. You will still see karma trains and you will certainly get run over but it will be done with the best intentions.

It’s more the ‘fairweather curse’ that’s causing it. You’ll find when you’re in an easy matchup that there’s miraculously more players on your side. Funny how that works

^ this. Most people like easy fights. They always disappear when the power of 1111 pew pew is not behind them.
