This graph is every server’s path that has been in T1 (NA).
What does it all mean?
where’s Kaineng
where’s Kaineng
Hasn’t reached T1 yet. Has always been a T8 server until recently.
Hey, I can find the point on SBI’s line when War Machine abandoned them just by looking at the curve.
They didn’t start tracking matchup information until a while after release, so they’re missing the most heated times in gw2 history. RIP overlord HoD & juggernaut ET
@ MornaVal, I had not started wuv wuv wah before week 39, so I didn’t experience those times. I know different match lengths occurred as well.
It means JQ and SoS were historically the most dominate servers in the NA bracket thanks to the hard work of their respective populations. They stayed on top longer than any previous NA bracket communities. And now JQ is the only remaining super server. No one likes a Unipolar world. Will the past server trends continue? We’ll see.
Also, server affiliation is irrelevant in GW2. The game (thankfully) generates a noticeable lack of nationalism from my point of view. The community formations are…international & multicultural. Yet, we still have slow adopters of change, “die-hards” that entrench behind traditional gaming paradigms of server pride. These types are more likely to rally to shared culture/language/nation. We see that the “traditional” gaming community is no longer competitive in a 24/7 WvW (RvR) setting. The lure of competition, or perhaps gold is stronger? Guild/clan affiliation remains as the most lucrative community structural support.
I welcome the international gaming community experience. 10/10. Would do again.
Most of the tier 1 guilds that competed from launch are still competing for/against each other?
BG proud to be the only server has entered and reentered t1 more times than anyone and is still standing strong

^ This. Every other server that has dropped out of T1 has plummeted (ET, HoD, SBI, and IoJ).
Says a lot for the guilds on BG that have been there a while. We won’t be transferring off when we drop out of T1 yet again in a month or so. ;-)
One other interesting “fact” jumped out at me, SoR has never gone down in this graph. Well done SoR, ever upwards!
I’m proud to still be on SBI even after guilds seeking challenges elsewhere left. Other servers can say what you want about us, and you can act better than us by saying that you’ve stayed strong while we’ve fallen, but we had a really good and long haul in T1. We’re still going to fight as hard as we can with what we’ve got now, and the fights are still as good as ever. That’s what matters.

Staying on your server in spite of it’s T1 collapse is admirable indeed! Blackgate just has more of those types of players. I think I can be proud of my server based on that.

Haha that’s a good point! This fact hadn’t occurred to me. They may be the only server period in any tier that has not dropped at least one ranking since the data collection started. This run will probably end eventually, but it’s still a neat data point. Nice job SoR!

No doubt!
I’m proud of my server for the people who stayed with us, and the fact that we haven’t collapsed to the absolute bottom. Enough of us care enough, and those of us left are more resolute than ever. I miss the T1 fights, because there are too many clumsy mistakes made in the lower tiers by all servers involved, but SBI is my home, and I’ll stick with it through thick and thin. I also know so many of the people I play with in WvW that I just wouldn’t enjoy myself anywhere else.

I am proud of you. Keep up the good fight!

What you have said here is really smart. I would say though that the game is greater than WvW for many (most) players, so playing on a realm with people of same language/time-zone etc is greater concern to most than trying to be up in T1/T2 in WvW.
And the servers in T1 are very unlikely to be the same in six months as they are now (only 1/8 – JQ – has been there the whole time), but i agree several of the guilds on whatever servers are there probably will be.
I wasn’t suggesting anyone (including me) should spend their time solely on WvW. The structure of the game is most certainly larger than WvW.
I hope the same language/time zone concern goes away as soon as possible in online gaming (including GW2).
Gaming clans/guilds are tribal. Very primitive. Easy to influence and control. The developer corporate model always had, and continues to wield, the power…
Let me know when we (gamers) are ready to explore behind our chains again.

That my friend is the absolute truth, data proves the SoR community resilience. It is funny seeing others trying to claim the same thing when the facts are showing the obvious.

Well said Zen it is something we have known for a long time that our server is stable.
It shows how consistent and stable Blackgate is.
