The new auto loot doesen't work in WvW. [Merged]
Autoloot should be a base mechanics so they can make the mastery 5% more Luck or something and everything is fine

Devs dont even remember that WvW is in the game. everytime WvW is mentioned they have to find their script on how to respond to this fictional game mode. We will never get auto loot, because obviously we don’t exist
Why not adding a WvW mastery about looting, pillaging and ransacking?
Something like, for example:
“Pillaging Mastery”
- Rank 1, +5 points. Defeated players who give full WXP (60wxp is the current base max from players) also drop 1 additional Badge of Honor and have a chance to drop 1 supply.
- Rank 2. +15 points. Your attacks steal 1 supply from enemies carrying more supply than you. (90s cooldown)
- Rank 3, +30 points. Use enemy siege depots to steal 1 supply. (480s cooldown)
- Rank 4, +50 points. Destroying enemy siege has a small chance to give 1-5 supply, and a very rare chance to drop that siege’s blueprints.
- Rank 5. +100 points. Automatically pick up loot from fallen foes (Requires HoT).

gating. Everything is now about gating stuff behind more gates, grind or repeating events endlessly to get enough exp to move to the next gate.

I don’t know. I have no idea why you would ever not want to pick up loot unless your bags were overfilled in which case it warns you anyways.
The most irritating part though is it does exist in the game, but then there was “oh, we forgot about WvW”

And isn’t it annoying to see everyone else’s 18 billion bags? If auto loot can’t be easily addressed, just show me my bags please…..

The number are just examples, and I actually considered higher point costs, but now even the highest one costs just 145 points total. This’ll be 5+15+30+50+100=200 total, which would make it take the most points to max right now.
Still, it’s just ideas. The main point is making a general theme of ‘Pillaging the enemy and their bases’, and making the Autoloot the last track so people without HoT can get the previous tracks, while keeping autoloot still only for players with access to the Mastery Sytem like in PvE.

Sorry for not having a source, but I’m pretty sure it wasn’t a case of “oh, we forgot about WvW”. I recall seeing a dev response pre HoT (probably on Reddit) to someone asking whether or not Autoloot mastery will function in WvW with a “yes”. So its essentially a screw you WvW. Active neglect is very different from oversight.
Oversight being the broken WvW dailies (making an assumption here). An example of Active Neglect would being told, “Sure Autoloot will work in WvW.” and then turning around and saying NO masteries will function in WvW.

Is this a bug or intented feature? cause it would really motivate me to play more WvW if i could forget about the pickup function as in pve.
I hope it’s a bug. It makes no sense. Auto-looting is even more useful in WvW where you’re fighting other players and it can get hectic and very often you can be killed in a zerg before getting your loot.
In PvE, nothing ever really prevents me from picking up my loot.

The logic anet uses is something like this: you have 2 separate mastery lines: one for hot maps and one for old tyria. The masteries you unlock and expand only rely on xp earned on that specific area and only works in that specific area. For example you can only unlock gliding by grinding in hot maps and it only works in hot maps.
Now wvw is completely separate area, it is not part of tyria and is not part of hot maps. So you can not earn any xp to increase any masteries and none of the masteries work in wvw.
As soon they enable one mastery in wvw (autoloot), they will also need to consider every other possible mastery too (gliding?).
To add to that, apparently it did originally work in WvW. A Dev responded on a live stream notes thread on Reddit talking about how it worked. It would seem they separated it afterwards, to rerelease it as some feature content.

We are looking at adding a way for players to earn Quickloot in WvW as well. We wanted to keep PvE progression (Masteries) separate from WvW progression (Ability Lines). However this means when a new Mastery ability is created, that might also be useful in another gamemode, it doesn’t automatically crossover.

Give it time. I’m sure they’re thinking of a 4 level mastery line that will take 10 million wxp to complete it and auto loot on the last line.

The worst thing is switching from pve into wvw, getting into some fights and just then realising that you should have been spamming the pick up key again as you lie on the floor defeated and seeing those loot bags and a chest sitting back along the route.
It was supposed to work in wvw, but then they decided to remove it. Why? The one place where it actually makes sense to have it, and it doesn’t.
Fix it, Anet. Soon. Please don’t make us wait another 3 years before someone rushes past and throws a bone at wvw.

I really don’t understand why this wasn’t incorporated into WvW. It’s frustrating as hell when I forget to loot. This is basic, and there’s no reason to not have it for WvW.

Arena Net, you’re pulling some Trion stuff now… That’s a slippery slope. Sleight of hand changes are not cool… The reasoning you’ve provided us for the sneaky change also doesn’t make sense as many people have already pointed out.
Remember, we paid for these features and now you’re changing one without even so much as an “oh hey, yeah, we’re taking auto loot out of wvw for a while. so don’t go yell at us on the forums.” That’s bad business.
My guild was fighting a 3 way battle to defend SMC on Saturday with all doors open and the lords room was paved in bags. The fight went on for maybe a half hour while 3 blobs cat and moused their way in and out. I shudder to think how many got disconnected and missed out on all of those drops. #autoloot #neverforget
auto loot never worked for me, i have the check box checked in the settings but it still doesnt work. i have to use my hotkey to pick up everything within a certain range

But even if the “Autoloot-working-in-WvW” thingy will require HoT, it will still probably persuade me to buy that expansion. Otherwise, as a mostly WvW-only player, I do not see any major feature in HoT interesting enough to justify that expansion is worth to buy for me.
P.S.: Yeah, I know that without HoT expansion, I cannot use a Shield Generator, but this fact alone doesn’t make HoT worth to buy for me, its only a minor disgust.
Please let xp earned in World vs World to count to Tyria mastery and just leave autoloot in the same place. Or allow Wxp to contribute to the mastery.

Fractals of the Mists are definitely not in Tyria either. Imagine if you couldn’t level fractal mastery by doing fractals.

This is definitely not a “thread necromancy” at all. You should realize that HoT was released on October 23, so it is already TWO-MONTHS-old gamebreaking bug for many WvW players which now feels really scammed according to this whole thread and these confusing statements/rumors/whatever 1) it is a bug, will be fixed “soon”™, 2)not a bug, working as intended, 3) we are looking for a solution etc…
And don’t even try to tell me that business company with that high profit like ANet have doesn’t have resources to fix crucial expansion pack feature for WvW players after TWO MONTHS since it was reported.
so any news or this is another thread of “we are working on it, see you next year → 2017”?

funny, i was so hyped for this mastery and when HoT came out. grinded to unlock it and went to wvw and big surprise its not available in wvw. this is the sole reason i’m no longer buy gems and instead spending money on other games. thanks anet.
There has been talk from ArenaNet that they’re currently working on a WvW overhaul. They’ll probably add auto-loot then. I’m guessing they may make a mastery for WvW and we’ll have to unlock auo-loot like the Tyria mastery. No idea yet, but I look forward to more news in the future.

This is year 2016, 09/02 and we are now several month after the HoT extension that everyone paid.
Why don’t we have the Autoloot available YET in WvW ?
Despite it’s a WvW’s community request ?
It’s already in the game, we’ve all seen that IT IS WORKING, so why can’t we access that option?
As a WvW player, I feel like ArenaNET is forgetting the WvW in EVERY UPDATES.

From what I read when I purchased HoT, WvW was listed as an example of where autoloot could be used.
I was really looking forward to this and was the first mastery tree I leveled.
Huge disappointment when I tried it in WvW.

I agree one thing I want to mention when you play a balance of both PvE & WvW it is very easy to miss your loot in WvW because you get used to not hitting the loot button in PvE head to WvW & have to get into the habit of hitting it… I would love to see this added to WvW as well.
