The reason why gw2 is about wvw. T1 footages.
Holy kitten what copy of guild wars are you playing? You culling is better in tier 1 than ours is in tier 5 lmao.

i think my PC build really helps render things really fast.

From what i understand GW2 is very CPU intensive. Upgrade that before a video card and you will see massive improvements in culling. I have an old 8800 GTX and just upgraded to an 4.0GHz AMD FX8 and have little culling issues. The massive 40 – 50 man zerg balls are a little slow to render, still it’s not to bad.
Anyway, WvW is the best part of this game. To bad Anet is neglecting it. =(
ANet isn’t neglecting it. They’re actively eroding it with PvE gear creep.
Culling is no result from computer performance.
I got a top level gaming computer, and I still get horrible culling, but no “physical lag”.
Might be about proximity from server? or the connexion itself?

Could be IDK. All i know is that i don’t have the issues with culling that most people seem to complain about. Anything under 30 – 35 people usually renders just fine for me and like i said the only issues i ever have with culling is the massive zerg balls where 40 + people are all stacked on top of each other. I played this game for the first week on a Q6600 and that was bad lol but after i upgraded my MB and CPU, culling issues were very minimal for me.
Yea i have a high end gaming PC that has no problems with maxing any modern games. I play at 70-100fps in GW2 but still get horrible culling whenever i encounter 20+ man groups.

awesome vids
Week 1: I see OnS – Onslaught. I didn’t see me, but I remember your guild tags. Don’t forget half your enjoyment is brought to you by your opponents. From what I see here…are delay tactics to keep you busy. We are running circles around the buildings with various others fighting or running. No siege or open field guild vs guild here.
Has FEAR or CRNG (Carnage) made any videos? I would like to see them.
I renounce my hibernation and return.

^_^ videos. open field
Another zerg v zerg video. Only thing impressive is your avoidance of the culling. It’s not your fault its just another zerg v zerg video, because that’s all there is to do, but the fact remains…it’s boring.
you’ve been playing too much pve

I love seing Zergs clash like that in open fields.
Just shows that confidence and momentum are equally as important as numbers.
yep imagine 3 servers clash in the field.
First day in wvw … and he have a legendary lol (<- man with 2 arms up)

I see you fielding a considerable amount more people than the groups you’re overwhelming in these videos, as well as use of a communication software where they likely don’t.
Always nice to see coordinated efforts, but I wouldn’t consider these videos much to talk about as an example for what WvW is about.

If you’re not seeing any of that new placeholder art your CPU is fine. If you see the placeholder character models it means the server is giving you the info but your computer isn’t fast enough to draw all the characters.
Long story short I’ve never seen the new placeholder art because my computer is an F’ing monster. I still get culling like a mofo though.
Something needs a lot of work in this game.
“That big kitten Norn with The Juggernaut”
I have always seen far more than others I’m surrounded by to the point I see people trying to abuse culling miles away when no one else seems to. I do have a great rig but I can’t say for sure why it is. It’s truly a benefit in wvw though being able to call out incoming often times before they can even see me.

My opinion as to what zergs are, is overwhelming use of numbers with little to no strategy to win an encounter. This is where I disagree with your post.
I love how you lump our guild into a “zerg” mentality. When we started in WvW we could field around 2groups vs 40+. As the game matured and our reputation grew as “zerg” busters we got a influx of recruits. Now, we can pretty much fight straight up against another large guild in open field and add the tactics we learned to use as a smaller fighting force into the equation. At tier 1 all you see is groups no smaller than 20 and up to 80 rolling as one. Your force needs to be relative to what the enemy can field counting both numbers AND skill level. IF you are fighting against an opposing guild that can field 40 guys with a similar skill level vs your 20, You will lose. 40 vs 40 with even skill level is going to be about which side strikes first and has the better strategy throughout the engagement.
I’m the Assuran Warrior in Week 1 video with the Commander tag and Vision of the Mists sword. In this video you see two tactics that we showcased. 1) was a double portal. 2) Was an agressive retreat utilizing the building as cover, and a subsequent counter flank. We annihilated their entire back line as their frontline fighters overextended into our right flank.
I guess this video is more to your liking?
We wiped early on due to culling (they had more than we saw at the time) but you see 3 warriors(I’m the little assuran in the video)rally up and flank their entire backline, with a little support from the defenders inside the keep.

Don’t get me wrong, I love small group skirmishes as much as the next guy, but because of the map sizes and layouts, it’s more about army vs army than it is about all the other different types of fighting.

i dont think it is zerg video only [hel] has shown some pretty good tactics with portaling behind the attacking enemy and all that. very nice videos Helioz.

lol! this guy ^
SOR is going no where. They’re a great server and they never give up :]
Man after watching these I might just blow 600 bucks on a new rig. And transfer to T1 to boot. (JK not going to transfer).
Nice.
(But I’d need to know cpu, mb, video card that produces that non-culling play. I just got a better video card for my current computer and fps is better but culling is worse. Gotta have something to do with the actual parts or drivers or something.)
hi johje, i just wanted to let you know my rig runs Asus Rampage IV Republic of gamers mobo, NVIDIA GTX 680, i7 Hexa-core 3930k, 16gb ram, and Intel SSD. These 4 parts costs almost $1800 already.
Came here for awesomeness.
Left with disappointment.
Warrior – smash!
But the ram part was fun, I’ll give you that.

Nice video Mohmohchan. I envy how smooth everything looks haha
I have some T1 footage as well. The fight itself was unexpected & pretty glorious for those of us there. ( visible in the chat comments ). Supposed to be something simple but turned into crazy. Video is more about showcasing that particular fight rather then my average skill level.

Thanks for letting me know what it would take. Guess I’ll be sticking with the culling lol.
hello, if you are really into gaming, you want to spend for the best already, this is cost effective in the long run. I don’t see myself changing builds for the next 8 to 10 years.
Ok, have a tier 3 response:
