This morning the thief from the server Underworld crossed through the portal in our tower and killed me, took over the tower. The tower had the gate and all the walls. Underworld player quickly took over the other towers on our Borderlands. Congratulations server Underworld rapid growth points.

Thieves and hacks go together like Fred and Ginger. If you’re going to use broken mechanics, what better way to do it but with a broken class?

Regrettably there’s nothing we can do, and the odds are slim that there’s anything ANet will do. I doubt legit players on Underworld are too excited about it either.

Please, don’t go around blaming an entire server because of one hacker. I can’t speak for everyone but I’m certainly not proud to have a hacker with us. However, our “rapid growth in points” is more due to the fact that Blacktide has even less players than Underworld. It has been like this for the past few weeks, with hackers or no hackers.

The best you can do is report the hacker and wait until ArenaNet does something about him. Just don’t get your hopes up, because normally it takes at least a month until anything happens.

Nice story OP. I notice you avoided mentioning whether or not you reported him. I agreecheating is a problem. Reporting them is the only attempt at a solution we have. Did you report them?

OP, don’t blame UW for what one person is doing. That thief you mentioned has been hacking for weeks now and was reported many times. We can’t do any more about it, UW can’t either.

lol, the last time I saw the thief, he jumped on me somewhere between garri and tower (which we took 1min ago). I knew he’d follow since we killed him few times that night and he seemed kittened off so I ran to the tower and to lord which still had RI on. He followed me into the tower. Ya he hacks but he is dumb as a shovel to die to lord.

Hackers mostly use thieves and mesmers because this 2 professions can go invis and teleport so you wont be suspicios

I really dislike when an entire server is called out for one or two bad apples. Every server has these guys. All of them. We had a really bad one on our server and in every matchup thread on the unofficial forums either he was blamed for why the other sides were losing, or HoD was called a “server full of hackers.” Because of one person who was very obvious about what he did.

He was eventually banned, but it took over a month, despite videos like this:

those guys aren’t hackers. they’re just cheaters and probably didn’t code these cheatingtools by themselves. you’re actually insulting every real hacker by calling those kittenbags hacker.

I wouldn’t say it’s a great success since we usually tick very low at night time. But yeah we have at least 2 hackers that I know of that sadly hasn’t been banned. I wasn’t on at reset night but I would guess that one of them was active then too since we capped the WSR keeps :/ I also know of 2 BT hackers so it’s not like you guys are all innocent ^^

I’m sorry you’re having a hard time tho. We were ourselves very annoyed by a FoW hacker a few weeks ago so I know how frustrating it can be.

The thing with this particular one is that he’s really annoying and constant with his actions. I was used to cheater using their tools a couple of times and that is that, this one continuously uses his. So annoying that people doesn’t want to play this match anymore.

The FoW guy has been doing this for months so sadly I doubt this guy will be gone anytime soon :/

I’ll just edit in here that the player in the videos isn’t part of the wvw guild but uses a faked guild tag similar to theirs.

Yes thats correct, we have been fighting 4 UW in their border who were legit taking back objects just minutes before the cheater appeared. Also its kinda easy to spot on which border he is. His order is something like that: Bay or Keep first, then Hills and the other one, after that North Towers and South Towers. All camps have been untouched. On the UW Border its always the correct pattern: First a camp and after some time a Tower / Keep flips.

Saturday Night after everything was Blue, I wanted to recap something on EB, and that Guy was standing there in the path waving towards me (and 3 others). Aka he was solo-spawn camping? he died like 50 times but kept respawning on his dead body.
At first me and the 3 others were kinda angry but after some time it was just ridiculous and we made fun of the cheater. He also seems to have a Friend, a Ranger. After the cheater took an object the Ranger always goes there to defend. If no one is attacking he is running with the cheater together supporting him.

Like in the example with the spawn camping. After we killed the cheater some times his “seems so-friend” appeared and supported him. Goes around otherwise either.
Like if I focus on the ranger, the cheater directly left the one he attacked and focused on me. (Like they are on TS or something). Can be wrong too but It just looks like that.
Have seen them together 5 or 6 times by now already. Always after the cheater capped something/all.

Those videos are clear evidence this guy is not playing this game the legit way. If Michael could do something with that and finally put a stop to this cancer it would be nice.

I for one am not holding my breath on it though. This been happening for way to long to have some faith something is going to be done about it.

I just wanted to inform you that he is still around, alive, and even more annoying.
Most of our people do not even want to play this matchup anymore because its kinda frustrating. (Especially since we encountered the FOW Cheater last week too).

Today morning we ticked with 150, so I went on, put my tag on and after quite some time I had a really nice group of like 10 people with me, we had fun, joked around, and raised the tick back to 315 until, guess what? Yeah that guy appeared and startet taking everything away. When our T3 Keep in our Border (with WP) was contested I send someone to check it out, and ofc. it was the Cheater. The Guy that went there killed him 8! times in the keep but the Cheater kept coming back until our guy gave up defending so the Cheater could paper the Keep again. Everything on our border was blue then in a matter of minutes, after that he went on back to EB (which we nearly fully took without much resistance) and it started to kitten people off and they left.
Many whispered me say ty for commanding great job but that they have no fun with him around or they can’t endure that stuff. So at the end I was left with just 1 Guy and tag down since I came on to “repair” our tick but actually it dropped less than before. To 75.

To make some math too, lets see, he was Rank Veteran when I first met him.
He made somewhat 20-40 WvW Levels since that time. Lets be nice and say 30.

Tower gives 400 – Keep gives 800 – SM 1.000 – Lord between 40 – 100 (Lets just take 100)
1 WvW Rank requires 5.000 EXP. Thats 150.000 for 30 Levels.

150.000 / 5 Days = 30.000 per Day.

Borderland has 3 Keeps, 4 Towers (4.700 EXP) x2 since he does not go UW BL = (9.400 EXP)
EB has 3 Keeps, SM, 12 Towers (9.800 EXP)
== 19.200 EXP

Now lets add the camps: 6 in Border, 6 in EB 200 EXP each + 100 EXP from Lord. (
300 EXP x 18 = 10.800 EXP

End Score: 19.200 EXP + 10.800 EXP = 30.000 EXP (lol i did not count that before, but look above it is exactly the amout i predict above…) Well that just shows how active he is. Its so sad.

My Ticket #1113263 from Sunday morning is still unanswered btw, so If someone could speed this up it would be nice…

The GM’s have to see him do it in game.. I hate to say it but he’s not going away anytime soon. On UW I know people have reported several times and we’ve had no results so far. I guess you could try and get alot of people to report or /w a GM as soon as he starts doing it and hope we might get someone to come check it out(preferably before he’s finished capping everything..). After months of this it does seem pointless though.

All of us (GMs) have character names starting with GM (GM Proheals, for example). We are online 24/7 and responding to reports sent by you via the in-game reporting system. 98% of the time we’re invisible clearing bots and the like.

To remove someone using hacks (teleports, speed, etc) we have to witness the act in game so you must use the in-game reporting tool. The only exception is if you can point us to chat where the player cheating has said they are using a 3rd party program.

A brief summary on what happened this morning.
I was one of the two (then three) defenders at WSR Garrison. Managed, as said, to negate the cap and to kill him a number of times. The cheater ressed on the spot and started using “warping” cheat to give us an harder time following him. Ultimately he desisted for the time being but moved to cap Sunnyhill. As soon as it was swapped I rushed to Cragtop. Lord was already at 5% but managed to stop the cap there too.
Then the cheater moved under the map (I could hear the “evade+caltrops” sounds) but seeing me staying moved to EB first then returned to finish the job.

GM said that they are online 24/7. After all written here, after all the reports and videos, after a whole week of cheating at the very same hours, I seriously doubt that someone cares.

I guess after anet’s publicity stunt 2 weeks ago to make us think devs actually do something in WvW, they won’t step into WvW for a year.

It’s good to know that should I ever become so ethically bankrupt as to resort to hacks in this game, there is realistically no practical mechanism in place to penalize me for it. At least in AA’s case, Trion is helpless to deal with hackings, whereas in GW2 they just can’t be bothered. With all this evidence?

Even if you gave them the exact dates, times, and locations where the hacker would be, they’d still manage to fumble doing anything about it. Boggles the mind.

Same like yesterday, same time, i pop my tag before we had a nice group and everyone had fun, then suddenly borderlands got flipped within like 10 mins. I knew its him, but I say lets just have fun, bt woke up in the meantime and startet to take their stuff back, we wiped them at their keep and they went to our side when I saw our keep was contested too (WP which i upgraded). So i went in with my group first, and it was the cheater. Ofc. Half of them stay at the keep others went with me to jerri to def but it was too late already (gate <50%) cuz I got too much distracted from that guy.
Everyone in my party said, like yesterday, okay time to go eotm dont wanna deal with this guy. So please anet, he is online right now, got reported, please check it out right now <!

Real Sport: Someone dope – Take Blood Sample – Proof him Doping – Bann
WvW: Someone hack – Take Video – Proof him Hacking – No Bann, GM have to see him do it despite evidence.

Now lets add the WvW way to real sport:
Someone dope – Take Blood Sample – Proof him Doping – Nothing happens, we have to see him take pills/dope in real time, so if you see him taking his drugs please call us!

Also I think I read once that the more you report someone the longer it take because he will be listed at the end of the queue again. To counter that how about adding a new listing called “Hacking” which have top priority?

I mean you can revue some verbal abuse due to the chat log all the time, and I dont think a botter will stop botting an hour later. But a hacker might be only active for a short period of time so this one should have top priority.

Also how about adding a GM Channel? – Just like map/team/say etc chat.
If you write something in that channel all the online GM’s will read it, and only them, and can review it. It would be helpful for hackers who are invisible and thus you can not report them.

I have seen and used this in another mmo and it worked quite fine. I wrote I need a GM please because of botters, 5 minutes later a GM spawned beside my char and asked me whats wrong? and i show him the botter and could see him bann them in real time.
He said thank you and dissapeared.
