The tiebreaker rules?
I think what we would see in your example is:
1st – GoM
2nd – SF/DR
4th – FC/EB/DH
7th – AR
8th – KAI
9th – ET
note that nobody is in 4th, 5th or 6th places. if you come in 7th place, you get the 7th place rewards, even if all the servers 1-6 tied for first.

You mean 3rd, 5th and 6th.
See that is a huge difference based on the potential rewards. Basically its either FC/EB/DH get 3rd place rewards because they all finished with the 3rd highest points in the Tournament, or FC gets 4th place rewards, DH gets 5th place rewards, and EB gets 6th place rewards.

When there is a tie for second, no one will get third in any system I have ever seen. There are three teams ahead of FC/eb/dh – they can’t be third. You have to look at how many teams are ahead of them not ‘slots’.
As for tie break. It has been asked in many threads and there was never an official reply, so no one knows…..
Just go to gw2 main page community leaderboards and you will see…..

I’ll bet they don’t even know themselves that’s why there’s been no reply. Probably buried in the code somewhere. We’ll just find out when the season’s over.
From my understanding, if SF and DR has the same score, DR will be 2nd and SF will be 3rd, and there won’t be a shared 2nd place.
At least that’s how I read it, since world rating wise, DR (1232.0845) is slightly higher than SF(1220.4288) at the moment.

The dev quote said that that was for tournament matchup purposes.
For final rankings… no one knows: especially since in the first tournament, there were ties in the final rankings. In any decently run tournament, this would be common knowledge to the participants.
Yes, but the reward system was much different than it was in Season 1. They said, your ranking would determine your rewards, but everyone got crappy rewards. This is more precise with ticket distribution.
But I agree, we will just have to wait and see how this turns out. it would suck if no one got 3rd place, 5th place, and 6th place rewards because of ties.

Why? If there are no tie breakers 3 servers in your example will get worse rewards than if there were no tie breakers. The 2 that don’t move down due to tie won’t get better rewards either way….
All that said, it was a silly tourney with poor matching and scoring system anyway. It should never be an advantage to lose as it was in NA silver….
4th place silver.
nsp = ioj = sbi.
play to loose for the win!!
working as intended

I think NSP needs to realize that playing to lose in the last week of the season also is not how that strategy goes.
