The yaks... OH DEAR GOD THE YAKS
Problem is that some supply camp are close that other…
Before on ABL the doly will not respawn immediatly if they are to close. To have approximatly the same travel time for every camp.
Now doly respawn immediatly once they have deliver the supply… This make that the south west supply camp will deliver doly to bay very very fast… This give ofc a big advantage to the attack team…
This should be fix to balance each doly deliver from each camp… Just make like before, the doly from the closest camp will not respawn immedialty once they have deliver the supply.
It was in the patch notes when they added Alpine back in. This is something they ADDED to the map on purpose.
Intended to reduce omniblob ktraining the bl’s every few hours and to promote yak sniping.

I think it is fine to have the yaks sped up like that. Faster upgrades and requires people to be taking the camps if they want to prevent the yaks from getting there.
They should slow down yaks back to the baseline speed, and only increase the yaks speed when escorted by players.

I like the new speed. It lets bases fortify in a more reasonable amount of time than before. Don’t want to deal with the forts fortifying? Take them out early, or go for the camps (And eat my ballista)
Considering there’s no longer the +supply upgrade I don’t see the issue
It’s not so much I think objectives upgrading faster is a bad thing, it’s one objective in particular, Bay. It’s simply too close to the SW camp and seems to upgrade slightly too quickly.
I must have overlooked that part of the patch notes that mentioned this though.
The patch note only speak about dolly spead upgraded.
But, with the return of the ABL doly respawn immediatly after they have deliver the supply… This was NOT how the map was working before !
The main issue is not the dolly that are running faster, it’s the fact that all supply camp have no more the same delivery time between 2 doly…
This create a big issue about the balance to how fast you can upgrade specific keep or tower.
Because north tower have a long path for the doly, and south tower have a very short path…. And with bay and the south west camp it’s really too fast when you compare that with the other structures.
The faster upgrades are nice and whatever speed is chosen they need to at least even it out between Bay and Hills.
I have nothing against faster doly and faster upgrade.
My concern is about travel that is really not the same between camp…

This.
Bay is the only thing that upgrades fast. Even garri isn’t that fast unless no one takes any camps or snipes dollies, which was gthe same case before. Hills and north towers takes ages…
Agreed, as it stands it’s unbalanced. My intended point was not that the overall upgrade speeds are bad, rather that it’s resulted in inbalance. Bay being too fast in comparison to hills. A keep should not upgrade faster than a tower IMO.
Words are hard.
theyre like little juggernauts now lol. not only are they fast but theyre tough as hell. i think their health scales or something. anyway i didnt play dbl at all, so…
Look at all you tough WvW champions complaining about dolyaks.
221 hours over 1,581 days of bank space/hot pve/lion’s arch afk and some wvw.
I haven’t checked it myself but someone told me that they had done the calculations and unless someone puts “speedy dolyaks” into a camp then upgrades were faster on the old alpine maps.
Currently, you can upgrade bay from 0 yaks to t3 from SW camp alone in about 2.5 hours w/o slotting upgrades. If you slot upgrades, you can get it under 1.5 hours easily. Not to mention, there are two other camps that can give supply to bay
Upgrading a northern tower on the other hand, will take about 7 hours (w/o upgrades). And there’s only 1 camp that gives supply to it.
I’m gonna guess they spend up the yaks because sentries have the yak crippling attacks now.

I’m going to guess the boring thing; that they didn’t really think that it’d be an issue so they didn’t switch it back.
Generally speaking, it still isn’t an issue, it’s just this one specific yak track that’s incredibly short. If they adjusted the respawn timer everything’d be a-okay.

Yep, as it was before on ABL…

Well speaking from a roamer perspective, specifically for the SW camp supplying bay, its actually difficult to kill the yak when speedy yaks is active IF you are by yourself or the ppl killing it lack movement impairing condi. And if someone is walking the yaks too, its almost impossible to kill it due to the sheer speed of the yak and the increased def.
The Soloblade
The Yak speed does better for promoting camp/sniping.
I do feel like the towers in the North BL are too slow to upgrade. The incentive to protect the North camp and those yaks is just not enough for anyone to stick with it. I have seen those towers take 8 hours to get to T2 let alone T3. Even on higher population servers, few people will be that dedicated to escorting yaks.
Some adjustment should be made, but perhaps it should be to reduce the number of yaks needed for those two north towers. They are pivotal locations for both defense and attacks, but very difficult to upgrade as it is right now.
Yeah I agree, bay is a bit of a problem.
It’s all well and good saying snipe the dollies or the camp but when you have a 20 man group or zone blob come to defend it and bay till they get a WP in bay it becomes a lot harder.
Add in the 3rd faction wanting to free cap everything else you have and it rapidly becomes harder to prevent a T2/3 bay.
