On the basis that if people shout loud enough, somebody might listen? Mesmer portals are getting slack for the wrong reasons. Thieves, idk too much about. But even there, I think most people would argue the problems lie with culling/rendering. The problem with mesmer portals isn’t the skill itself; it’s the rendering.

Most of the people complaining about thief’s don’t yet know how to counter a thief. They’re not too bad tbh.

(and no, I don’t play a thief :P).

I do however play a mesmer, and every complaint i’ve read puts the portal as the problem will ignoring the meta-problem; culling and exploitable terrain. Seriously, if some guilds have found ways to portal people into keeps, fix the exploit. If culling isn’t showing the 20 people who’ve just popped to you then the engine needs work, but the ability itself is fine and carries a lot of valid uses.

Crying over mesmer portal is kind of terrible every server I’ve been on has always said “Search now for mesmers”. If you don’t search for mesmers to prevent it it is entirely your fault if you lose it. Spending an extra thirty seconds in there to looka round is jsut too much for some people and valid to be complaint worthy. It’s a joke really.
