Things that turn me off in WvW
The same old wvw since launch turns me off
Solution to the loot issue: Pick up your loot before you die, and WP once dead so any additional loot spawns at your feet. Lying there dead does nothing to help your team anyway.

I do pick up my loot before I die as a matter of fact. I am constantly pressing my interact button whilst attacking so that I do pick up any loot before I die.
But you see here’s the problem, it’s precisely the second I die when more loot drops at my feet (I’d say around 98% of the time – murphy’s law). It is not the loot before I die that is the problem – it is the loot that appears after I die that I’m talking about here.
I also try to waypoint as soon as I can because sometimes the loot bags drop at my feet when I respawn – which is handy, though this too could be improved by having an interface pop up with ‘unclaimed loot’ or something – shouldn’t be that hard for Anet to create, though I’m no expert in programming.
Lying there dead does nothing to help your team anyway
I was printing this screenshot to make a point of how much loot I missed out on. I’m well aware that lying dead does not help my team, but thank you for pointing out the obvious.

I agree, matchups definitely need work on, especially when you get the same two teams week after week after week.
Meta = Zerg or be Zerged

Escorting = Boring
Yah, I am not sure there is anything in WvW that I actually like. Maybe huge open field fights between even forces but you’re lucky to get that once a day and it only lasts about 20 seconds.

fixing lag
fixing looting issue (it used to fall at dead enemies even if they died behind wall, and there was no aoe loot), big improvement, ty
it can get better. its the small things for me. i would rather have option to kick/inv to party then have middle of the map redesigned tbh

^pretty much all of this, party options working perfectly in pve so shouldnt be to hard to fix in WvW but instead they put time and effort in building ruins

Not being able to collect surrounding loot when you’re dead. For the love of squirrels, PLEASE fix it. It’s driving me nuts. The countless loot I’ve missed because of this… I can’t even… I know this thread will probably never even be looked at by a dev, so I guess I’m just venting my frustrations of what WvW needs fixing.

It’s motivation to suck less as both an individual player and as a team, but especially the latter. This is the punishment that your side didn’t win the battle and had to abandon the bodies. It’s there to impregnate a sense of loss over a lost fight and on the flipside a sense of victory over a victorious one, you having the privilege to collect your loot.
And it works.
It’s a problem, but it’s not the biggest problem they have with WvW.
1- “Stack here, Stack here, Stack Stack Stack” is their biggest problem and the game breaking issue and it won’t be fixed until they increase the aoe limit for light classes somewhat proportionally to their lower health pool.
It’s gonna re-balance the game and stop the stupid stacking which makes Meteor showers and other aoe spells useless against big stacking zergs.
2- Second biggest problem, rally on death of any creature or low level characters. They need to stop the rallying unless your actually resurrected by a teammate.

Huh did I say something against guardians? I’m all in favour of increasing aoe limit for guardian as well!

I proposed in another thread that it be proportional to the class armor type.
Heavy armor: aoe limit: 5
Medium armor: aoe limit: 7
Light armor: aoe limit: 10
- Reduce the HP differences between Light-Medium and Heavy classes.
Guardians are a heavy class. Don’t be facetious.

OK well my bad, anyway what I’m saying is that they have to scale the aoe limit so that light class have an advantage somewhere else than in the support and dying department.

World population based on PVE and WvW not pure wvw while it only matters to wvw as you can guest in pve.

Look at this way…you are a corpse…the enemy is rifling your pockets and stealing your boots.

I agree that it would be nice if you would be able to pick loot up when dead and I don’t see any rational reasons against it. Just make aoe loot work in this situation as well – problem solved.
- I don’t like how siege works right now with refresh and timer.
- I don’t like how warriors with GS can run away from fights/break combat so easily
- I don’t like how wvw mobs get so much easier because most people have their wxp-upgrades, ascended weapons and armor, etc. Sure, it is also nice to solo camps and capture towers with 2 guys but I think the difficulty should be adapted to the improvement of the players for example with additional/better upgrades.
If ANet wanted to make it even more fair…the players that killed you should get your loot that you left lying around.

A lot of games have much harsher dealth penalties like corpse runs. Be happy that loot falls at your feet and you can repair your armor and never lose it. Dying before you kill someone just because you tagged them with aoe is not a problem in the slightest. All you did is tag them >.>. That’s almost if not more equivalent in pvo where people tag someone just to get individual points but don’t care about actually killing them.
