Guild Wars 2

Hey gang,

Haven’t played GW2 in well over a year. I led Darkhand on the Blackgate server. I was thinking about setting up a couple days a week for my guild to come back and do some WvW.

Can you give me a quick rundown of what’s changed? When’s this new “season” starting? How bad will our PVP gear be (I think we stopped playing when the earring/necklace were the only pieces of epic tier gear released)? Is there a need for a small force 10-15 man PVP team on Blackgate these days? Is the meta still zerg?

Almost nothing has changed. Anet still doesn’t appear to have any interest in supporting WvW. Population has dramatically decreased.

Hmm. Sounds like garbage. Maybe we’ll check back in another year.

helpful? lol I did for your own good, how can you trust on these troll posts, I say the game has changed a lot and Anet continue to support WvW, population has greatly increased.

Now another person come here and agrees with Lord Kuru and another one comes and agrees with me, how you gonna know whats the truth? “You” have to log in, play the game and find out what happened and what changed from the moment you left.

anet deleted pvp and blackgate has fallen off the map in wvw. they’ll need all the help they can get. better log on quick.

heh i was thinking the same man lol. Maybe by next year something will have changed

Also, now there are mounts and they are profession specific. Some of them can’t be used in WvW, but the engineer’s deathcycle is pretty cool and comes with flamethrowers and spikes, with additional flamerthrowers ON the spikes. And lots of chrome.

That word should be a give-away on how reliable his comments are, but seriously thiagoperne how much are anet paying you?

If you’ve seen Edge of the Mist there hasn’t been anything new since then.

wvw meta has shifted to eotm

The biggest changes are probably conditioning and the nerf to power builds (they nerfed critical damage while renaming it to Ferocity). Be prepared to get conditioned into the dirt upon your return and watch any alpha strike builds lose a significant amount of upfront DPS. Beyond that, same game as you left just with a lot fewer people.

EotM = PvE karma train. Don’t bother with it unless you’re leveling a new character. Otherwise, definitely go there to level because the new leveling/trait system is horribly tedious.

All these people that comes to post bad things about WvW still plays and love the game, because they can’t find anything better out there, otherwise they wouldn’t even be here. But they keep trying to scare Anet with all “oh you don’t care about wvw” “everyone is leaving” bla bla, but never worked. Sorry gw2 is a drug, once in never out.

Ummm not so much. I’ve been in each Archeage beta and am going to play it once it launches in a couple of weeks. I’ve bought the highest tier founder pack and will happily pay for a subscription. It’s all cash I’d have happily kept on throwing at ArenaNet, but unfortunately they don’t seem interested. While waiting for the final AA beta, and upon hearing the new season is starting, I came here to see what if anything has changed. The most stacked servers will win, condition builds continue to dominate, and nothing whatsoever has been done about hackers. Very exciting.
