This the GW2 WvW for me now.
i agree less lag and bug fixes is something most wants but i for one is happy with the bloodlust part and i love the new map and how its build up its much better then the water in my opinion
reverting it back to a huge lake is in my opinion a huge step backwords instead of going forword

Not that I don’t sympathize with your point, but it doesn’t help to start your argument with “I haven’t played, but”. Try playing it first, this will give you some evidence to present rather than speculation.
Agreed haven’t logged in all month, you can tell this dev team has no idea what they are doing…this update and the end of the GVG scene was the last straw…..see you all in the next game with real RVR!
I, on the other hand, have played every day since the patch. And wvw was lagging even more BECAUSE of the patch. Then they released a patch that supposedly fixed that lag, but as far as I’ve noticed, the lag has gotten worse since that time. I’m running a lower-end computer, so I don’t expect wvw to be running perfectly, but this has become ridiculous. In the past, I’ve noticed some lag, but you get used to it after a while. This new patch has caused even more lag than I have ever experienced before in wvw (aside from when another server was running ~100 people).
When the other team is running maybe 40 max, and so are you, there are fewer people in the area of the map than when we’re doing Tequatl, although Tequatl doesn’t cause this much lag. Obviously, there is a possibility for the servers to handle a lot of people, but they have not implemented it.
As for the bugs, they still exist, and they won’t be fixed. Just masked by other, newer bugs and fancy features we don’t really care about. The idea behind the update was not bad, but it serves to mask the other problems, such as incredible server population differences. And this thread won’t be listened to or responded to… because it doesn’t concern Tequatl. I’ve submitted numerous bug reports about excessive lag since Wednesday and I doubt anything will be fixed. I’ll just learn to play with even more lag.
I don’t know what they have done but right now I am getting 15 second lags….. A zerg hits our keep and I can’t even get inside because the game pauses me at the entry door.
Finally get in then I rubberband in and out 3-4 times….
Yes the lag is bad and bloodlust implemtation has problems, but the map update is a huge improvement especially for roamers. The ruins are a haven for small fights and suggest you give it a proper go before you ask for the water back…

Lag is part of playing an online game… so i am not sure if you realty want to play an online game if Lag of any type going to mess it up comply for you. There are just some things that cant be fixed that fast or easily.

The Bloodlust mechanism is the cause of the lag. Forget the buff, just the mechanism alone is killing WvW.
Every time one of the buffs changes hands it simultaneously affects 2/3 of WvW population across all 4 maps. It doesn’t really matter what the buff does, having to simultaneously updated 2/3 of the entire WvW population is killing performance all on its own. And that’s before you start to factor in updates to conditions applied, etc.
I think Anet may have overextended themselves with this patch. Instead of getting the basics working right (performance, commanders/grouping, massive incentives to zerg, etc.), they’ve endeavoured to ‘fix’ WvW by adding yet another layer of complexity and its attendant performance impact to the game. The result is even more problems, not less.
The mechanism was the same back when orbs was around and there was no problem with lag. I’m certain the lag is because of an overlooked bug somewhere pretty high up in the engine of the system because its not just affecting wvw. I get huge lag spikes in PvP as well, and it’s everyone that gets affected not just me.

Calling “Bloodlust mechanism is the cause of the lag” is a major leap in logic with what i guess no backing to it other then the fact it happen at the same time. But there a lot of things that happens at the same time as this “Lag” (the truth is i not seen any of this lag in wvw yet so i have no idea what ppl are talking about). The new pve event can effect what happening in WvW to a point due to adding in a new set of ways to play the game. The fact that all the world bosses got a major buff to there hp and a timer too could come from pve to effect wvw. The new land mass in wvw could have something to do with it (every thing seems bigger not sure why though as if you can see more and see more detail). Mobs have been moved been removed, added and moved. The new ram mastery could do something the point is there a lot more going on then just a random new thing that you seem to hate a lot to the point that you will start to blame cancer on it if you could.

The logic is in the second paragraph of my post. (Any corrections or additions to this logic gratefully accepted.)

I am not sure of the cause of the lag, but for some people WvW is now unplayable.
