I’m from TC, and after getting stomped by BG last week I’ll admit that part of me is kind of glad that we have an “easy” week. Still, I can understand the frustration of the under-strength servers.

I wonder… Would the servers actually welcome an unofficial strategy of the two weaker servers automatically teaming up to fight the bigger one? JQ and TC did this last season against BG, to great effect. Looking at the scores this season, I think that many of the servers are actually at a place where the two weaker servers, when combined, would have the numbers and coverage to effectively compete against the bigger one.

Heh, we got Blackgate and Jade Quarry this week.

Feel like I’m in a fight with the Terminator.

Jade Quarry has good players and they’ve been polite enough not to wreck SoS, Blackgate however is just mindless zergs of 75 zombies, they run away when they don’t outnumber you 4 to 1 or have you under their siege.

I don’t honestly care if you believe me or not TBH. But I do know that 5 people in a tower with well placed siege and disrupters can hold off a map blob without breaking a sweat; I know as I did it once last week. FA doesn’t lack the numbers as was seen on reset they just lack the conviction to defend, however mag needs to drop a tier IMO.

5 people can’t defend against a 50 man TC zerg blob.

On reset you outnumbered FA substantially. we had one zerg per map. you had two or three.

FA zerg = 25-40 ppl avg around 28 by ts and visual counts.

TC zerg = 50-75 ppl.

You guys just PVD. you didn’t even need to place seige and you’d take down gates.

there’s lots of situations where 8-15 of us will take on 20-30 and just smear them. Till someone who got smeared cries and calls your giant zerg and steamroll anyone dumb enough not to wp when the map starts lagging.

Interest some of the TC wvw guilds are not trying this week. Mostly milita zergs are out taking stuff. That is why you see a large PvD group. Log on it is 400-500ppt so nothing to take with a guild group.

TC is outnumbering us about 30 to 1 this week, so I should be able to recreate your scenario and slaughter an entire zerg by myself. I have max AC mastery, so this should be easy! I’ll let you know how it goes.

Edit: Oh forgot I need to kill 6 golems too, before they take out my lonesome arrow cart. Can I assume they have to be omegas?

How bad is it when Even TC players agree, its not a fair fight? They simply have way to many players. I mean just trying to get back to the fight is a challenge. They have enough people they simply stop us at our own WP.

No one is having fun. We all want some great battles. Win some, loose some. Its only Tuesday and the Score was something like TC had 240,000 and FA has 64,000 and Poor Mag only has 30,000. I miss YB. But seriously though, I understand, YB does hold PPT but I remember just wanting the matchups to end. It was just pugs on loads and loads of siege. Roaming and guild raids were dead in the water. Don’t get me wrong, defense is good. Going apekitten with siege to the point where you keep PPT high enough to continue being matched against realms with enough of a population to make you turtle in even further then bore and annoy them into leaving your stuff alone? Not so much.

Oh heck yea, I LOVED fighting them guys. They did not have the coverage we did, so they simply played it smart, and some well played defense. Props to em. Oh did I tear the commanders a new one when they would feed the zerg to a yb keep. You try for that keep with out some major fire power, your gonna get owned.

As a commander I learned allot from fighting them.

I have to admit… I am on an okay server… last week we came in second place after a hard fought last day with GOM.

This week, we have been put against 2 other worlds that with their combined score will not even be more than ours ATM.

Well you could be fighting Desolation this week, its not bad enough that they have round the clock zerg from hades, now they are working with another server in the match to ensure them second place. I hope some serious changes come to WvW soon.

Fluffy, Fluffy, Fluffy. This is the last time I shall address your comments. Mark Twain once wrote to never argue with a mule. You waste your time, and annoy the mule. I stated my case and you gave no real argguement against it. There have been subsequent statements by others that back up what I said. Despite our (realitive) lower pop in YB, we can and will give you a fight. I understand that bullys want easy opponents. So come on down and fight for victory. If you get it, you won it, we didn’t lose it for lack of trying. Many warrior cultures measured themselves by the greatness of their foes. What will your measure be? Warrior or bully?

Just wanted to say that I appreciate what fights FA is giving us this week. You’re putting up a lot of effort in a horridly lopsided match, and a lot of us on TC are grateful for that. Thank you for hanging in there, despite the odds. :c

I did my part by going to EotM for my WvW dailies this week and not making the battle more lopsided. (Unless I need Camp or Dolyak kills.)

There’s a small sliver of hope with the invite a dev thing. But then they’re all probably playing on BG or SFR or YB.

SFR got 0 Dev, Kodasch got 3.

I am 100% sure there was a Dev on EBG/SFR last week. For sure he was on our community TS.

I’m on JQ and have had my fair share of stomping and getting stomped. I don’t like constantly winning or losing because neither of those are fun in any way. Back when BG was climbing the ranks and we started getting matched with them and SoR, it was great WvW. These days, its apparent BG is top, JQ is second, and TC is third. Each server can go full try hard and win a certain week but generally its BG, JQ, then TC. Any of us moving to T2 is a complete stomp and maps turn into EOTM style karma trains where we just go in circles around the maps capping objectives. There are also times where for whatever reason we can’t get anybody to play and BG will have a full blob and we are stuck with 20-30 people on map and only 10 on the commander. Its very hard to try and get into the game when you know you’re about to get whooped.

I only have a few ideas on how to fix the population issues but no matter what game you play or develop, the hardest thing to fix and/or adjust is balance.

It is possible to take out a 30 man zerg and 6 omegas with siege. Just because you can’t seem to do that don’t bash on players who aka me .^_^. Yes I actually did that but I am from Yaks Bend and as you know we are very good a siege placement so we can hold off zergs. I did yell in my map chat for help and I got one person to help me. A well placed treb and master can kill mindless omega drivers which is hilarious to do. Now since we have siege disablers this seasons should interesting to see what happens. If you come against me in a tower be prepared .^.^.

Bash on you? Really. Here’s YB skill for you. Just now, 6:00 EST we are taking out SBI’s keep in EB. We melt the walls, inner and outer, in no time. Then, while they have a zerg running rampant elsewhere, our outnumbered buff all of a sudden appears, and another YB zerg shows up out of the blue. Yeah. Skill. Wow.

Last night, in open world, evenly matched, YB took nothing from us. We repeatedly annihilated them in open world and during sieges. So, don’t talk to me about skill. The ONLY time YB has been successful is when they vastly outnumber us…which is usually the case. Hence, the several threads about WvW imbalance. Given an equal number of people, you would not be so successful.

The problem here isnt the matchup system, players want some balance but mostly want to stack in most populated servers, theres no incentive to transport your characters to a lower WvW server/tier and pve/eotm players dont care about this.

When you have your butt handed to you repeatedly you either give up or learn how to win. I have stared at zerg after zerg marching across my BL. Do not tell me how good we have it. Our population has hardly changed. We did not go to forums and weep at the injustice of the game. We just learned how to fight better. Oh, as to what happened yesturday, we won and so our server is relaxing and thinking on next week. We know next week won’t be easy but look forward to it. The lady I mentioned has come forward about the zerg kill. She looks forward to doing it again. So get a klenex wipe your eyes and grow a pair.

i fear what server might join the fight :\ , there is a point where overwhelming numbers means everything and nothing can stand.

just a side note… 1 YB havok squad is the same size of NSP zerg :P, nothing can beat when on overwhelming numbers (stacked server) with 15 supply each atacking a keep tower, i kinda envy your numbers, altough this week and the next one are great exams to NSP side lets see if overall what can we do.

2nd side note, i kinda like the combination of roamers YB has.

I’m on NSP and even though it’s completely lop-sided and technically unfair of Anet to allow this type of matchup, I gotta say everybody on NSP seems to be having a blast with the individual fights themselves during primetime. Sure we’re being blown out of the water points-wise, but we’ve wiped our fair share of zergs and had some really great fights that just went on forever! Anybody from YB at the fight in NSP’s Bay 2 days ago about 8pm EST? Fight lasted like an hour with constant streams of players just WPing and coming back. Was crazy.

I suppose next week will be even more interesting and NSP looks forward to the challenge

I am giving thought to going to silver league. Yea, YB LOVES to take the enemy Bay, and Camp and Defend it. FA had the same fight once with them. Man that was SO much fun. Think that fight went on for close to a hour or more. It was GREAT!! I am and still giving thought to going to YB. Only server I seen play it so smart. They simply take a Enemy bay or Hills, Seige it up, Defend it, and just wait for the Bad guys to come knocking. Why take the fight to them when the fight will come to you!!!

Learn how to win? You constantly miss the point. Numbers win out. Period. Yes, if you are playing some slack-jawed yokels a few people can hold off a small zerg, but if everyone is equally talented, then numbers matter. It’s you who doesn’t get it at all. But fine, you can believe what you want. We all know that the server with the larger population of WvWers will always win out in the long run. If you wish to think otherwise, that’s your business.

You, and YB, are like that South Park episode in which the Detroit Red Wings play against a pee-wee hockey team for the Stanley Cup and they constantly high-five each when they score goal after goal, body check kids into unconsciousness, and handily win. Yay.

Sorry, this has just not been happening unless we’ve been heavily outnumbered. Even then I’ve seen NSP run off, being scared to push or even getting wiped by us with fewer people. You may have wiped a few PUGs but every fight I’ve been involved in NSP have melted. Oh, and ZoS, one of your supposedly better guilds, refused to GvG us and have purposefully not engaged us after we wiped them a few times, lol.

Anyway, I acknowledge this has been an unfair matchup for a multitude of reasons. Coverage is definitely a factor and both NSP and SBI’s presence has literally been non-existent sometimes. I mean, their keeps are being kept paper and there have been periods when YB owns the entire EBG map, being able to take towers without even a single scout/defender showing up. No server can expect to win without having fundamental coverage to at least put up a bit of resistance and all in all it’s made it an easy week for us.

In fact, this isn’t even YB’s full strength you’re fighting against because a lot of us aren’t even WvWing full time this week cuz the match is boring for us too, particularly because no-one wants to fight either. A lot of us have been leveling alts, sPvPing, etc. Can only hope next week is better.

It seems every week’s matchups are a joke, and the joke is on YOU for playing! Hahaha!

So far we did not had repeated matchups (all three sides equal), but next week we likely have in some leagues the starting round repeated, but yeah, if strength is so imbalanced as it is, then the match outcomes are strongly predetermined, and the start-matches are likely repeated in the last week as well, as they are the most balanced matches.

And yes, the shorter format ensures that repetitions mostly happens once, and not several times as in the overlong season 2, and that’s what they wrote.

Wow to call another person server garbage that is low. It sounds to me like you are the the garbage and needs to be taken out. Just you and just and not the server you are from. It depends on which commander you are coming up against in an open field combat and the numbers. Each commander has different ways of commanding. One time you will run over some group and the next time you can’t.

Oooookay, its easy to see the usual B.S. people post to explain why they lose. It can’t be theirs of course. I do know that playing smart will beat mindless. I read some guy insist that a 5 man sieged equiped keep can’t be held against 70 zerg. Maybe, maybe not. I can testify that one of my guildies in YB held off a 30+ zerg w/ 6 golems BY HERSELF. Yepper, she had an AC and a treb. They died. (you wanna say I lie? I will give your name to her. She will chew you a new one) YB wins cause we play smart. We learn and teach what we learn to the rest of our server. I will not say a high pop isn’t an advantage. Even then you can make them bleed. and get bags at your feet while using a siege engine. In other words guys learn to use the weapons you have and NEVER give up anything without a fight! Good Luck on your season.

Play smart. Lol. You outnumber the other two servers you are playing against probably 2 to 1. You seem to have zergs on 24/7. Fortunately, NSPers have, you know, lives and we have to take a break sometime. It’s tough to defend anything when two different YB zergs are just roaming around melting anything in their paths. Trust me, we’ve tried.

Congratulations to YB for being a big fish in a small pond. You win because you outnumber us. In open world, evenly matched, we seem to consistently wipe the floor with you. So…skill…not so much. Numbers. Just numbers.

So what you’re saying is it was a fluke and by no means should represent what any 1 player can do on any given night? That pretty much makes a point moot. If 1 person can’t reliably and regularly take on 30 people the population problem still exists. Anyone that’s in T2 or below also need to recognize that there is a HUGE chasm of dedication, population, and honestly skill between T1 and them. I moved from kitten T4 and it’s like night and day.
