Tick every 3 minutes insteads of 15 minutes
Or maybe have fully upgraded camps give an extra PPT.Gives people more reason to upgrade/attack/defend them.

I like using the 5min buff, within a 15 min point cycle, against my opponents.
If you’re not already defending locations for points, then why would more frequent point accrual convince you to care about points that you don’t care about?
Nah… it’s quite obvious that the solution to your problem has always been increased and more numerous character and account rewards for defense events: tipping the balance so that we profit from defending.

pretty sure that having the ppt timer last less time than righteous indignation is a horrible idea.
that being said, the game would benefit from longer ppt timers, not shorter ones that benefit absentee scoring.

- Everybody will fight more for supply camp instead of:
“OMG, it’s 10min before the tick, i will come back in 5 minutes so i can cap @ 4min30 and my server will have the tick of this supply because of the 5min buff on the boss.”- Defense will be better than: “OMG they is a 30 bus people attacking our tower, we are only 10, let’s teleport and do otherthings” => people will fight until deaths because every 3 minutes they defend their tower, it’s a +tick for their server.
Seriously why are the benefits for a 15min tick instead of less ?

Random ticks with undisclosed times between 5 and 15 minutes. If you don’t know when the tick is, it’s always worth fighting.
EDIT: I would rather have shorter ticks, though. I like the idea of 3 minute ticks.

Dudes… strategies and tactics involving clocks are such exploits.
It’s like the childhood friend being demanding while playing a fighting game on console. “Wait, I want to try this combo,” every fight, multiple times per fight, when all you’re trying to do is casually play the fight out for fun and a win.
Playing the game unlike your opponent is such an exploit!

This is correct. It was the game update on September 14th, and also when the points for SM was reduced from 50 to the current 35.

This would give what you desire rather than a 3 minute timer. But there alot more serious problems in WvW atm that need attention far more urgently than this.

Yes, this would give a more accurate result.
In theory this summing is Riemann integral of the current points function.
So as frequent the sample taking is done the result would be more accurate.
Also some anomalies would be eliminated like: holding a keep for 14 minute, loosing it for 2 and holding it another 13 would not yield any point.

This is a valid point, altough it can be resolved, by summing only a fraction of the total points.
Something like this:
in 15 minute sampling take the sum of total points as 695
for 3 minute sampling take the sum of total points as 139 (695 / 5)
for 1 minute sampling take the sum of total points as 46.3 (695 /15)

I dunno about the sentry/dolyak point i seen the score increase alot between ticks and not increase at all when the timer reaches 0 only thing i have seen reliable is objectives counting 15 mins after being capped but again even then its iffy because i only seen points from the “tick” happen over time not all at once and even then its spread over the 15 mins
