Tier 7 and 8 oceanic.
Depends on what your definition of decent is. If its the occasional roaming group then yes. If its anything more then no.
That tbh is still NA prime time, most ppl i know define Ocx as around 12A.M. server time, and then gets heavy at around 4A.M. server time once most of asians are off work. ET prolly has the strongest numbers during these time slots, because once we get going our 25man float team can flip anything and everything.
are they not talking AEST?
Aparently AR has an oceanic crew, its nothing compared to higher tiers obviously but it does have a presence.
As a matter of fact quite often our guild is on during these hours, during the week we might log off earlier then 4 am est but were usually around until about 2 am est with some night stretching to 4 am.

A bunch do. I’d assume we have around ~20 people on map wide during those times. It’s not the biggest force in the tiers either.
There’s a separate sub forum for recruitment. Try there.
Not really looking for guilds to join, looking for what servers have decent population at those times, I was thinking of helping lower servers out. And just wanted to make sure I wouldn’t be the only one running around.
DR needs help have an oceanic crew there
Our nightcrew in ET is famous for getting huge, like 50-60 plus. Check it out!
They really should make transferring to a tier 7 or 8 server free.
We have Aussies. They spend most of their time running around as quaggans.

No they just need to base transfer costs of server rank like we have been asking for, it great that Anet feels they need to keep releasing these CDI threads but lets be realistic. They have done nothing about the first two, its all a bunch of BS to make us think they give two kittens. A year from now you will probably see the same comments the SWtoR team said “if we could do it again, we would have listened to the players more”.
Players usually have the best ideas, its just getting a concensus of what players want and implementing it over time. Look at EQ Next though, the players actually BUILD the game, a lot of dev workload cut in half plus its really unique, like a Minecraft MMO. Im a casual player but I think anets doing a fine job.
Yea and server cost should reflect population base or something. Easy fix but I’m sure time will work it out, g’day!
Honestly if you’re looking for consistent night coverage you’ll have to move up to t6. Servers like GoM, great though they are, I’ve noticed they have a tendancy to completely disappear at night randomly. Servers like Darkhaven, as long as there is a commander available, will field large enough zergs to completely destroy other servers in our tier (as well as having dedicated oceanic guilds e.g. SotD).

I think AR has a stronger oceanic coverage than most the other t7-8 servers at the moment, always a decent showing during the 9-4am time when i usually play.

That’s quite large. Are you sure that’s Oceanic time zone? As in, 1am – 5am server time. Even BG can’t pull those kinds of numbers during Oceanic. We were pulling a good 40 people last night and that was pretty decent already.

? Dh queues maps (on rare occasion) at oceanic time… how can BG only have 40 in all maps?

We lost all our Oceanic during the exodus just before Season 1 of leagues started to JQ. The remaining “Oceanic” are either NA players staying up late or SEA players logging on early.
I had my commander tag up on our home borderland today and could only pull 10 people to the tag. Asked the commander in EBG how many was there and the response was 20-30. JQBL was all green and TCBL was all red, so I can only assume there were no BG players there.
To be fair, we do have a large Oceanic PvX guild, but they run 3 nights a week. We tend to get top PPT when they run though

I’ve played against ET during that time zone (on my account on AR) and seen others numbers while playing on my account on JQ; and while JQ can come close to that a lot of the time, no way does ET come close, esp now. AR could probably get that (we’re split into several guild groups though) during those times but not over the whole time consistently.

wow, its hard to imagine how eredon terrance isn’t higher if can get 50 ppl on during oceanic.
I know we are not tier 7 or 8 but Crystal Desert has a strong Oceanic crew as well as a lot of NA members who stay up during that time. We are currently tier 5 so a bit higher up but we rarely que except on reset nights.
What I take from this thread is that low tier servers have better Oceanic coverage than a Tier 1 server.
Huh…

A group that’s large enough to k-train everything a few nights a week isn’t really coverage. I don’t think there is really a concept of coverage below T2, people just go out and play when there’s something to do. Look at DB for example. NNK will reset every map if they meet no serious resistance, but they won’t defend or upgrade anything, and don’t show up at all when it’s hard.

jesus, we understand coverage.
dedicated wvw guilds are just relatively sparse.
if the OP is at a point where he could like solo camps/towers or regularly command a small – medium sized pug group, he could have a pretty large impact on a t7/8 server.
thats the difference below t2… in high tiers no single person can really matter. (just dont let it go to your head)

trust me, et doesnt pull the numbers this guy has claimed. esp. now that they’ve lost a guild or two here recently. I play on both anvil and jq and though I think we have really good (I’m CST timezone) overnight numbers down in t7-8, most playing are aussie/kiwi/some other oceanic areas (a lot are american as well), its still about half what we have on jq (when I log off AR and onto JQ) at around 4am CST.
the other servers ar plays against are usually pretty dead around that time though, the stuff we cap can typically get t2 upgrades in before they try to attempt to take it back; if we don’t babysit it too closely (if we have people stay there and escort supply we could have it in before, but… yea that doesn’t happen).
the thing that the lower tier servers don’t typically have though, is the vast coverage disparity that I think exists in the top part of the mid / upper tiers. we’ve got (poor kain being the exception here at the moment, though they’ve shown some resilience the past day or so, but they’re always getting shatupon) some way to balance out our population ebbs and flows to keep the game competitive.

I know they said something about never closing servers, but man, they really have to do something to help the lower ones out.
If you want a consistent population for the Oceanic timezone, anything below T2 CAN and I stress CAN be inconsistent. If you are above T2, you will always have something to do, there is no doubt about it, Maguuma, Sea of Sorrows, Fort Aspenwood, they always have something going on to do, whether its roaming, havoc, flipping a keep etc etc.
If you are worried about not enjoying where you are going to stay because of a chance of some days being boring, anything above T2 is perfect.
Tarnished Coast
I bet now with edge of the mists the lower tier servers are even more empty in the wvwvw lakes.

I didn’t mean to say that in an insulting tone if that’s how you interpreted it. I just meant there are no guilds that have a coverage responsibility, and you don’t go out buying guilds to get more coverage. There’s a lot to like about lower tier WvW if you value individual contribution over murderballs and pug blobs.

a common misconception. only bad matches produce empty maps.
