Tiers shaken up
Although the changes in tiers and volatility, not to mention a renewed interest from returning players certainly makes a difference, let’s not underestimate the impact of guilds migrating from YB to TC in this shake-up.

Well traditionally, they would not have had enough glicko points to have been able to jump in to a t1 match. So with them shaking things up, they actually get a chance to compete in tier 1 against each other to see what would happen.
The changes certainly accelerated TC moving up.

Not enough “thanks” go out to the ANet guys I think. I gave a lot of negative feedback when HoT came out and am happy to see they’re turning things around.
That said, in NA, the server tiers have been shaken up greatly and I’m loving seeing different servers to fight more often. I’m on Blackgate and we’ve been fighting Jade Quarry and Yaks bend for god knows how long, now we’re getting Dragonbrand and TC in the mix too. It has been a lot of fun seeing some different servers without having to transfer around.
Very interesting that Yaks Bend and Jade Quarry have dropped to Tier 2 after being in tier 1 for so long as well.

Since the servers have been mashed together, I don’t think there is any good way to tell how long unless someone remembers. If I remember correctly, they were tier 1 pre-HoT. I could be wrong – but even 6 months is a large period of time. Maybe not nearly as large as JQ and BG have been in t1, but its still a welcomed change to see things change up.

I think YB’s fairweathers are a lot more volatile than most servers. When we lose, we lose by a lot, but when we are winning, it’s endless queues and blobs.
Hopefully the guild migration is enough to counteract the inevitable return of fairweathers.

You want me to “thank them”??? Let’s see, they’ve manipulated WvW by leaking info to a select few. They manipulated WvW by pairing worlds poorly and intentionally stacking some. Then they locked said Worlds indefinitely without using actual population. They manipulated matches by removing the glicko wall and manually setting matches. Only to replace the said glicko wall within a couple of week after they placed worlds as desired. Now soon to add xenophobic type discrimination to scoring.
I’m not going to thank them for any of the above. I’ve played a competitive game mode to be competitive. As there is no competing with the Dev’s, so it makes trying now utterly futile. I’m betting after this “Beta” they’ll be less overall WvW players than before. I look at my long contact list in game and I see fewer WvW players logging in.
Of course, I’d expect you as a BG to see things differently as you’re the only World Q’ing 3-4 maps still.

“Blob Gate” is the least skilled server with the highest stacked population and highest boredom quotient. It needs forced transfers.
If you deleted every account that resided on Blob Gate the game would be much better off.

There is no skill required being on a stacked server. Blob Gate will never get any respect. Those are the facts.
If you want respect, transfer to a server where you can’t hide behind your blobs and walls.

same with me.. i play less every since i transferred. i think i actually got worse at this game too. i find myself just spamming skills in large fights now because that is all there is to do
