Guild Wars 2

To start with, I love Guild Wars 2, I love Guild Wars in general, I have been a part since prophecies, enjoying all the expansions, I am a long time GW player. I love how Anet manages to make one of the most enjoyable balanced mmorpgs out there and strafe to make the best mmorpg out there. With that said;

WvW is getting out of hand imo, I went to sleep yesterday around 1am CET, wake up at 9am CET to find Dzagonur having trippled their points overnight – http://i.imgur.com/ILO0h.jpg

It is becoming more and more of a contest who’s willing to spend their lives/nights to win the week, because during night, EB and all of the borderlands color Dzagonur, although I must say they’re the only server I’ve played, that play so well organised, they can easily win without doing these ridiculous night shifts IMO. But being trippled in points over night just kills the fun for me personally as I am very competitive and try to work together with people to make UW a better WvW server, I cannot make people sacrifice their nights however, I’d love to see how other people feel about this.. I mean, we are 3 euro servers fighting eachother. It’ll be a hard one to think about I guess.. hard to “fix” too.

No offense to any Dzagonur in particular, I love your server, well organised.

That’s what i wrote in the topic about that matchup. The 24/7 PvP idea is fine.. just not for european players who got only 3 max 4 time zones.

It’s the ones who spend their time in night who will most likely win no matter how good you’re doing over the day.

They also need to nerf mesmers again, so they can’t portal bomb, that’s all SoS is doing, super lame.

Night capping is a feature of the 24/7 nature of wvw, and until recently it’s what kept VS at the top of the EU chart. The servers that are rising in the tables generally have a decent amount of players that play in the early hours, giving them points advantage over those that don’t.

It can be quite offputting to log on in the morning or early afternoon and see your server going from 5k points in front to 15k point behind with all your fully upgraded keeps and even garrison gone.

It’s all about attracting people from different regions to your server, or finding lots of ‘night owls’ to come and play on your server, or persuading all the pve farming types that stay up all night to farm wvw instead.

Without a decent night crew you are destined to fail in higher tiers.

I don’t mind so much about the portal bombs, it’s what makes mesmers a good tool in WvW, it’s a strategy too, anyone can do it, I’m just concerned about these night shifts, although I have no idea how you would go about fixing these things, you cannot close WvW over night, there’s people that only have time to play at night time.. it’s just a bit ridiculous imo.
