Just a question about wearing titles in WvW, I’ve noticed that (as far as I remember) I can’t see my own title displayed while in wvw, but I can see other people’s.

Is this a known bug or something that you can’t see your own title in wvw?

I just tried going in with each race (except sylvari) and I can’t see it on any of them.

Actually asked someone if they could see it displayed and they couldn’t either, so it seems its not just on the local end, weird.

It’s not a bug no. Titles in wvw replace your name to invaders. It would be way too long to display your ign and the long title next to it. And they replace your ign to invaders to reduce the angry pms other servers can do when killed etc.

If your asking because you wish to know your current rank then simply press B in-game and it should show your current rank and title and the next rank number needed to get next title. As a side note there was a bug for memsers and their clones did show your own rank to yourself and allies, it only affected mesmers though not rangers/pets etc.

Apart from that you should be able to see your own rank or other allies ranks.

Na I’m just talking about to myself / allies I know you can’t see enemies titles.

I actually sent a ticket about it to see if they can tell me anything

The titles were removed from nameplates to reduce visual clutter in WvW. I could not the patch notes, but that’s how I remember it.

You can only see your party members’ titles. You cannot see your own title when holding Alt key down.

Unfortunately the October 23, 2015 patch introduced sPvP nameplate badges which now pollute WvW nameplates, too. So the visual clutter is back.

ohh I wouldn’t have seen that probably, that would make sense that squad/party only can see it… but its still weird I can’t see my own when I’m in one even :/
