I want to come out and say

Thank you ALL for the absolutely outstanding time this month!

Be it from my face in the dirt. Or that giggly grin you get as you see the yellow numbers flashing across your screen because something went right.

It has been and Absolute Blast Fighting you All these last weeks.

Well, I wish I could say that we (Mag) could have made it more interesting, and put on a better fight. Unfortunately, our recent implosion kind of limited what we were capable of.

I think it’s fair to say that Mag will be dropping down a tier or two in the near future, so we will likely not be facing off against you folks for a while.
That’s fine, it gives us time to rebuild.

Still, good tourny. GG all.

Bg – You may have larger forces but Atleast you gave the gold match a good challenge.

TC – You guys are fantastic. Thank you for also giving the gold league a good challgene.

SoS – Despite your number disadvantage u did well. Your SEA is refreshing.

FA – To all the friends i made i will miss you. Voted Most friendliest server

Mag – What you lack in number u make up in skill. The fight clubs were awesome.

JQ – To my family , there is no doubt we did amazing given our NA/EU numbers.

Overall, I had fun. I am sure some did.

(BG player). Yes definitely this was among the best seasons we had so far when it comes down to fights, equal odds and so on. It honestly was a pleasure fighting against all servers we were matched up against.

The fights with TC/JQ this weekend were amazing. Really happy to see this let’s hope for even better fights in the future! Glhfgg to all. This season i kinda feel we all won in one way or another.

10 hours and a total of 4 people have stepped forward to congratulate each other on how great the season was? I guess there is no further need to comment, the numbers speak for themselves. I tend to agree with the numbers.

I think there were a lot of good fights by all 6 servers. Unfortunately, there are pretty big number differences between the servers. I’d say the closest two servers right now are JQ and TC.

I would have loved to see an SoS TC JQ matchup. The quirks in each servers coverage could have made it quite a battle. TC and JQ already have some of the best ppt battles when the 3rd server is a non-factor, throwing SoS in the mix would have shaken things up a bit.

As a BG player, I really do not think it has to do with numbers when playing against TC and JQ, Just because our server is always full, does not mean all those players are PVP/WVW players, many are PVE players. You do not know the number of times our server is out numbered in WVW.

We have defended our Garrison for example with full blob TC and JQ inside, and even with them putting up Arrow carts. And driven them out. how…………….. What Blackgate does do the best is our Teamspeak community and organization. As well as excetpional guilds and players.

There are days i wish i could hear some of the communications that would go on.

I was there one night when a guild group From Black gate took Tarnished coast Garrison in Eternal.

A TC map blob could not oust the turtle shell. I can only imagine the commander screaming into the mike

Don’t worry it’s not just you, BG as a whole, doesn’t believe in coverage imbalance. I was talking to one of your servermates the other day and apparently BG were supposed to be the “dark horse” in this tournament. Pretty disturbing and sad to hear to be honest.

As for BG being overly populated, honestly I think it’s just more that we have a lot of insane individuals who have no problem pulling 12 hours of wvw in a day if not more. I’ve been playing a lot myself and it’s a lot of the same people in there every day all the time. I log in, same people, I log out, same people, log back in, kitten they’re still there!

Really enjoyed the fights, I have a terrible memory when it comes to names but I think the tag was SE on TC, we got some fights just out in the middle of BGBL, spontaneous fun fighting

I really wish there were this much daily action outside of seasons.

There were some good times this tournament, it it exposed some ugliness too.

The pre-season hibernation meta needs to end, as well as the blobbiness. Unless ANet is indeed working on GvG like some hope, there really should be a lot more fighting between guild groups and less 30 man guild groups dragging 20+ PuGs along.
All six servers do this at times, but it needs to not be an every night thing.

Also too many running away from equal fights or even guild groups running from PuG groups. I wonder how much more competitive the season would be if some of the non-elite guilds of TC and JQ (ie everyone not NS or TM) would focus on their development.

I had fun on the nights there were fights, because it’s what we prepared for and could learn from, especially me, learning how to staff ele in wvw. Good job all, I hope for more fun fights in the future. :-)

We don’t need no stinkin tournament to get good fights, I hope. More good fights, less standing watch in maps with 3 waypoints but no people.

This tournament was disappointing to me but it was only because I came back from work (I work several months and then off several months) to find that my home server Mag had imploded on itself. I had some good 1vX fights with all servers and apologize for Mag having so few people to match your zergs. I assume we will going down a tier or maybe two so i’ll have to wait a while for some epic duels with you guys but hopefully we come back stronger.

This is the first time I’ve played WvW seriously. I’m a BG player with RK.

From my perspective, we don’t have anywhere close to the numbers of TC and JQ; so often we were outnumbered 3:1, even more at times. However, we’ve got an insanely well organised commanding group with some brilliant commanders.

I particularly enjoyed taking JQs garrison. They gave an tremendous fight and it took us a long while, but eventually we took it. Holding the Lord’s Room whilst JQ kept pouring into it in waves was incredible.

Fighting SoS was really fun as well; they’re some seriously good fighters. It’s a shame they didn’t have the numbers we did, otherwise it’d have been even better.

LOL. It is really funny to hear a BG player say BG does not have near the numbers of TC and JQ. On TC, our most popular excuse for everything BG accomplishes is that BG outnumbers us on all maps all the time. Our second most popular is that BG uses spies and siege trolls to win.

It is actually rare that TC has many people in WvW. We try to cover all four maps at once without letting all these BG spies know where we are going.

TC is really scary when it comes to playing in a big number. Sometimes we BG can’t find a shadow of TC anywhere, yet bamf! they show up in 30-40 and swiftly take our keeps without any notice, or pour from out of nowhere and push us to defense. Our scouts have troubles following the movement of TC’s zerg.

The best TC commanders are using a strategy that moves around all four maps very rapidly. We risk losing zerg members to queues and lost communications, but have gotten better at catching up. Maybe it is one of the few things we are doing ok.

As an FA player I actually liked the tournament ^-^

BG definitely has the numbers, but because they are organized and have guilds that raid for longer than most other servers they usually run lighter unless they really need to blob.

BG was much more willing to split their blobs up than TC or JQ were during the tourney, but they also brought a gallon of Hineyjam to every brawl as they’d swarm the OJs.

BG does a great job with WvW. The one black eye for Blackgate is they got a reputation for cheating, earned or not. Whether the siege trolls were working on their own or being paid by BG guilds as rumored, they managed to make BG look bad.

Same could be said with TC/JQ about the DDoSing of BG’s TS every reset night last season. Or the spying calls when it seems that you all make your first attack in hours right after a commander logs for the night, etc. At this point I think it’s safe to assume that there is scum on every t1 server. It’s just something we all have to learn to live with.

I’m not going to demonize an entire server based on the actions of a few ethically lacking individuals.

Yes, the double team was awful. Everyone I talked to on TC hated it.

I doubt TC has spies, to tell the truth, unless it is a newly transferred guild, and there have been some, including from BG. TC is pretty disgusted by the spies. Would surprise me if any of the long timers would do that.

(TC) Player here. Really Enjoyed the match ups we’ve had against those servers we’ve played. We’ve had some great fights, Open field and Within keeps/towers ect. Also @ William c.6195 i think you’ll find that 9/10 BG outman TC and JQ throughout mostly all hours of the day. And i think you’re ratio is a bit wrong, 3:1? I think it was more like 1:3 on BG side. I’m pretty certain JQ will agree too. Although its nice to see you’re still learning how to count, just try not to double how many there actually is.

Either way all Deserve a round of Applause especially servers that are not Tier 1, you put up a hell of a good fight.

Not trying to bring up the bad stuff, just trying to make the point that there is bad on all sides, but I highly doubt very many people support that kind of stuff, it’s just something that happens at the top end, some people are willing to do anything even if it’s just plain dumb.

I kind of wanted to hear someone in BG deny that those guys were part of their organization. I wanted to hear someone say they were pretty much jerks operating on their own. The siege trolls and spies are definitely jerks.

I hope they didn’t join us in some of the transferred guilds, leaving TC to explain we didn’t know anything about it.

Well, BG is showing us we can play a much stronger team if we are very smart with supply, siege and communications. You use a partially upgraded tower with a lot of supply in it as bait you can defend and run back to for regeneration. Make sure to put some trebs in it and lots of acs. If the stronger team is a long way from their waypoints and you are close to yours, you can fight them for hours.

Mendons is fantastic for this kind of stuff. Really interesting landscape in a remote tower most servers think is indefensible, so they won’t give up. Bag farm.

We each see different things ingame. I personally enjoyed the matches.

In particular XOXO guild gave me alot of fun moments.

Mendons is out of the way and ignored for long periods of time, so it can upgrade with a little help reflipping speldens. Mendons only needs to be tier 2 upgraded, if that, to be a lot of fun. Mendons needs three trebs and 5 sup acs. The trebs probably should be sup also.

That said, I seriously hope people don’t think BG is outnumbered by anyone except during really odd hours, and while I don’t endorse DDOS attacks on TS, I must admit I giggle cheerfully when BG whines about it happening to them, when back in SoR our TS would get DDOS’ed continuously if-and-only-if we were facing BG that week.

It works out pretty simply. Dirt-bags are a demographic category. They are pretty evenly distributed. Since BG has more people (by far), they also logically have more Dirt-bags.

Equally, he might not have encountered the usual anti-BG “propaganda”, and is simply telling what he experienced. No need to go all forum-warrior and attack his posts, now is there?

I think what they mean is on BG the guilds usually run tagless except reset nights, so each individual group is typically outnumbered because the other servers (TC and JQ) will all run together. We may have more people on the map, but it might be three groups of twenty, where the other server rolls with all forty together. Granted, last night we even had the outnumbered boon prime time NA on jqbl, which was crazy to see. Lasted about a half hour before numbers evened out again.

Depends on what time zone you walk in on, SoS doesn’t have a 4 map full timezone coverage like some people think we do. Had fun fighting the T1 blobs, we can compete with them we just didn’t have the numbers a lot of the time, also all the trains were so melee heavy we had to go back to more range to handle it, which was more of the T2 pug style anyways.

Anyways thank you to the rest of gold league for the fights.

Coming from FA player, I want to say good game to SoS, TC, JQ and Mag. I hope for Mag that they drop down and have equal fight with other servers.

Time for my little rant :

Altho I “kinda” enjoyed the outnumbered fights (god knows there were a lot of those against SoS, TC and JQ) vs pug commander or organized guilds, it always made me sigh when we were having a good fight and then suddenly a bigger group showed up and assjammed us. I know I know, loot bags. But still, it killed it a bit for me and proved once again that numbers rule it all.
