Too late now...
There was an in game mail for the start of the tournament and one after the first week that explained you had to talk to the NPC.
Ah ok — I hopped in at the end of week 2. I complete week 2 and week 4 but none of the others. I assumed the rewards would be delivered automatically similar to season 1.
Not sure why you’d have to talk to an NPC, let alone within a specific time frame. I can think of better User Experience design decisions. Now I know for season 3.
I guess if you didn’t visit the website you wouldn’t know?
Or if you had skipped the in-game mail.
Or if you had the whole chat disabled and didn’t speak to anyone the whole month.
Or…
I don’t know.. The next step would be to add a “fairy” that is spamming “Hey! Listen!” in order for players to collect their tokens…
(PS: Anet, I was kidding about the fairy, please don’t do it)
Oh god its too late now isn’kitten …What have I done
Sorry I guessed this topic was covered already by other posts. I didn’t see any on the first page (which was the extent of my search), but here’s a good one from page 2:

I agree it was a poorly designed “delivery system”, especially if you arrived late as I did (started at the end of week 2). It was also a significant redesign over season 1 which was our “baseline” experience.
For a company that completely redesign the “new user experience”, some more thought should have been put into this user experience.
Carefully reading emails from ArenaNet and visiting NPCs that most players normally don’t interact with very often to avoid missing challenges is apparently an innovative new part of the game to keep the players engaged in the game content. It’s like having the join a party in order to get the champion box in PvE events on stacked megaservers. All exciting new content to keep players on their toes.
It was done this way because if the reward fiascos in both season 1 and 2….. Mail delivery did not work and they must have never solved the loophole of people not getting the mail.

That’s fine. Then have the Battle Historian hold on to all of the rewards until the player picks them up. Is there a reason why unclaimed rewards needed to be discarded?

I would assume it might create issues with different amounts of rewards awarded based on placement and people switching servers and such.

We ended up using the NPc one time for the real season 2 rewards. If it isn’t obvious, season 3 was put in the exact same day another game title released, I don’t think they had time to fix the ticket distribution system.
