Too many bonuses in WvW = IMBALANCE?
I like that WvW doesn’t exist in a vacuum like Spvp. It feels alive.
That said, if it were me I would have created a neutral zone for WvW behind south camp where bloodlust doesn’t apply for GvGs. It wouldn’t have hurt anything for them to do that. However, for general WvW, I am fine with all of the things you’ve listed.

And before anyone says WvW isn’t meant to be balanced: Balanced match-ups are far more fun than unbalanced ones.
You’ve never played ANY other MMO have you? GW2 isn’t anywhere near as bad as most other MMOs in terms of balance.

EDIT: I am fine it’s not as balanced as sPvP, actually i prefer it that way, however – ALL these stats over each other becomes too much!

2. Food: food is cheap enough that it’s ok.

4. Ascended: Discourages new players. Get rid of them.
5. Orb buffs: Why unbalance even more what’s already unbalanced? Get rid of them.

You guys aren’t getting my point – With particular builds u can get like 3k condition damage and 2.5k power and be really tanky at the same time, I’m just saying it is IMBALANCED because, the game wasn’t DESIGNED to have players reach these numbers stat wise? I’m just putting this up for discussion that’s all.
Stacking weapons and food buffs are easily accessible to everyone, so I don’t think that’s really relevant. It’s just another equipment choice as I see it.
Ascended stuff is definitely an advantage, but we’ll have to see how much the weapons proliferate in the coming months.
Guard stacks are specific to players players who have spent a longer amount of time in WvW, on one specific character. Not really a fan of that. But I think it’s the most applicable to this discussion.
Orb buffs are very fleeting from what I’ve see so far. No one holds them for more than a couple minutes at most, and it’s been rare to see anyone with more than one stacks. Despite the fact that our matchup does have a dominating server. I’d like to see how it plays out as people fall back into their routines and everyone isn’t congregating on the center of the BLs.

We arent asking for clear balance, but just to politely stop kittening up the balance even further every patch.
Guard buff is stupid. If you have so much time into WvW that you got those then you dont need an artificial numerical statboost to win a fight. Do you?
And the orb buffs dont do anything but buff a winning team. Maybe it would be a fun idea that next time a team scores in a team sport the other team has to send a player off the field.
Lets see how thats gona go down…
The way to combat the system is for the community to be proactive about the system. Settle to unwritten rules of the wvwvw community like
no ascended
no capping of orbs
no food
no bloodlust capping
anyone who violates the rules will be shunned. trolls may arise, but you get the point.
prove to a.net that wvwvw has a strong community.

Thanks for quoting my opinion on the subject for your out burst. I know people probably won’t agree with me because I’m not regurgitating the same garbage that I read in the other threads. Its quite obvious that anet isn’t going to just hear what we say and drop everything because the forums don’t like it. So either quit like the other peoples ultimatums or constructively voice your opinion and go have fun.
Whether I agree with the guard buff or not doesn’t matter. Point is that it is obtainable by everyone. It’s in the game and until anet removes it its there. Personally I don’t have a problem with it, I have yet to feel like I lost a fight because of the buff. Same with stacking sigils. Also it’s really not that hard to achieve, with my last birthday booster I have gained 40+ ranks and still have 4 hours left on it. Plus the over all increase in WXP gained and Devon said liquid WXP will be purchasable with badges + some other currency.
The way I see it is anet isn’t going to just do what we say so I’m just going to embrace there choices of the game and just do what I have to, to have fun. If the game dies, then that sucks but there will be other games…

I completely agree with you. Problem is anet doesn’t seem to. The way I see it is they should limit these things in WvW. Like before just my opinion.
Side note: I do think you shouldn’t be able to switch weapons and retain your stacks from a sigil. Though since any one can do it why does it matter…just feels like a bug they never fixed to me…

Glad you could make the distinction between your opinion and other people’s opinion, or as you put it, garbage.
We’ve got whole threads filled with constructive feedback. It doesnt take a mastermind to figure out people do not like these changes overall. Especially the orb buff, which directly contradicts earlier statements.
There is no possible scenario where arenanet is either so incompetent as to push this, or so ignorant.
They know full well people responded overwhelmingly negative, and that exacerbates one of the biggest WvW complaints of server inbalance. They no doubt have their reason why they suddenly integrated what is essentially Conquest-mode into WvW, but i dont think player enjoyment is actually the priority here.

The stat bonuses from Bloodlust are comically too large and imbalanced. 250 stats for one bonus! That’s well beyond even the difference of one player having a handful of ascended vs the other simply having rares.
It’s like we are playing WoW here were gear is too determinative, but instead, its buffs.
If you are in a perfect balance matchup where everyone can hold one Bloodlust, no big deal, but most aren’t and most won’t be when league play starts. Any gap advantage of 2 buffs or larger risk making small skirmish combat down to solo fights, very unrewarding and too dependent on thoughtless math advantages instead of play ability.
It might be ok if each Bloodlust gave like 20 to all stats. It would still be amazingly good. Right now who wants to go into a fight with an opponent who has the equivalent of 5k extra HP.

I’ve been playing MMO’s before they even had graphics, and even the most simplest of games would strive for a balance, leveling the playing field. When you strip away everything, it should come down to basic SKILL, not armor, weapons or astronomical buffs that are insanely ridiculous. Shall I paint you a picture? Imagine a group of guys in t-shirts, shorts and sandals with BB guns fighting guys in full kevlar armor with rocket launchers.

1. Guard stacks are the only wxp abilities worth getting for those of us that have no interest in being siege bots. WXP is easy to earn in your big zerg balls, takes no time at all to get it if you want it, so I fail to see why this is a huge issue.
2. Food is cheap, everyone has access even at lower levels and most of us don’t use top tier food anyways.
3. Stacking Weapons – sigils and weapons are cheap, everyone has access.
4. Ascended Stuff – hardly an upgrade at all, not worth complaining about. Most of my guild doesnt even have more then a piece or two and we run a havoc group.
5. Orb Buffs – not a huge fan of the buffs, but I want to see how it plays out before I get worked up. So far tonight we spent most of the time with 1 buff, same as the other two servers, so not really that big of a deal.
Overall my opinion is that most people play wvw, half asleep, poorly and with crummy builds, while running around in big zergs. Extra stats wont help those folks be better and it is almost impossible for them to get worse. The more serious players are going to have these buffs anyways so it balances out.

But the one they can’t guarantee or simply build their character to have through sustained effort, is the Bloodlust. And it is bigger than all the other ones put together once you get 2 or 3 ahead. Yet, if you are in a lopsided matchup (which will be common in league play) it will likely be quite common to be down 2 Bloodlusts, maybe even 3.
And even a 2 Bloodlust advantage is 500 more raw stats, 600 if you value healing power evenly. That’s a ton. That’s like pre-patch one guy having both WXP Guard Buffs, Leech and Fort, and running Food vs someone who isn’t and has neither buff.
I agree that it may not be determinative to most random fights, Joe-Bob zerger running back to his blob, you’re probably still going to kill him and his zergy build if you are built for roaming around, but among the fights that actually matter, both people playing for the same purpose, or in GvG, it is absolutely likely to be highly impactful if not outright determinitive.
