• Every major guild that has joined SoR hasn’t left.
• SoR has never dropped a tier in WvW.
• SoR has only ever dropped a rank twice (both T1 2nd to 3rd).
• SoR’s Teamspeak is currently the 2nd most active TS3 server in America, and 10th world wide.
• Even though SoR isn’t “Full” we’ve rocked WvW because of our community coordination.

SoR community seems pretty tight to me. Sure we’ve taken a bunch of bandwagoners along for the ride but the original community is close-knit.

Yaks Bend (my former server) they haven’t lost too many, although unfortunately they haven’t gained as much as they should have either.

yeah i did look at the history, and SoR is not impressive to me, i have my reasons for why i dont think SoR is a stable server, but i dont want to express my full opinion because it will feed the trolls and i dont want that.

JQ has been in Tier 1… forever, I guess? But they did get transfers into and out of the server pretty steadily. Still, if by “stability” you mean where they stand in the rankings, I would say JQ and SoR belong on the list, as Rank 4 is pretty much a worst case scenario for each of those servers. Same for BG, really. TC has also been in Tier 2 for a very, very long, so I suppose they belong on the list.

But yeah, it’s really hard to predict reliably how stable any server is after they’ve taken first place in Tier 1; I mean, if this survey had been done in December or January, SoS probably would’ve made a few people’s lists! A month earlier than that, and very few people could have predicted that SBI would implode the way they did. Now that free transfers are over there is a little more stability than before, but it’s really hard to predict what’s going to happen to each server.

By stable server they mean the liklihood of it not imploding, not just based ranks. A server with a strong core will never implode and will always remain stable. A server that is formed by mass bandwagoning will always implode. Most servers are stable, and the ones that are not have long left the scene into T3-8. Not that I am dissing T3-8, but they are generally considered the graveyard of bandwagon servers who have been stripped of their guilds and left to rot.

A stable server does not always care about the ppt. If you can handle losing for long amounts of time, yet still show up like nothing happened, that is a stable server. A server that has had, for the most part, easy rides without threat of dropping a tier is largely untested.

The problem with volatility is that it doesn’t account for numbers or the actual community, only the scoreboard.

You can’t really judge a server’s stability, especially in T1, until they’ve both won and lost that 1st place spot. The losing is what’s the kicker. How your server reacts to suddenly not being 1st, who leaves, who remains, what changes are made. How you recover. Until then, well, anyone sitting in 1st place ~looks stable, but is the foundation concrete or cardboard?

We actually have a very stable community here in Maguuma. We do not rely on one sole guild to take care of a borderland or to take assignments on any given day. We roll with what we have and we organize ourselves in mumble. We have the same turnout every week and do not take any hits when it comes to weekend or weekday play because we are consistent. The great thing about not relying heavily on any one guild is that we won’t implode if a guild decides to move because not only do we have a good number of organized guilds that jump onto the public mumble and like to organize guild raids or just lead other players in bg chat but these guilds do not have a tremendous number of players that would ruin maguuma if they were to leave. Also i’d like to point out that the reason we move so much within t3 and t4 is not because of problems with our server, it is solely because other servers who have come by these tiers get an influx of transfers throughout our matchup or before hand and steam roll everyone in the tier causing us to go down or up depending on other circumstances but we have not ever changed tiers because people transferred off.

As for Maguuma, PYRO (by far largest guild in Maguuma, fielding a good 33-50% of their total wvw population every night) is moving to a tier 1 server (BG or JQ) this week. D/ERP might move with them or they might stay (these 2 guilds are pretty close). Not sure why anyone would consider them stable right now. Either way, I am glad to see tier 3 having a chance to stablize. The total domination by Maguuma every day is not fun for anyone, winner or loser alike.

Vizunah wins, not even close.

SoR, TC, Yaks, BG, and FA. All servers get transfers, but these servers seem to retain those transfers or don’t lose more than they gained. TC and SoR specifically because they both have strong communities. I can’t speak to BG and FA, but following them they seem pretty stable. None of those seem to ascend too quickly via transfers or whatever other means. So most of them know winning and losing and have experienced both.

people actually believe that rumor? Why would 2 guilds that love smaller scale battles go into overpopulated tiers to fightarge scale battles? Say what you want but our community is pretty stable, I’m not saying we are the most stable out there but a lot of the players on this server love maguuma, and even if there guild transfers, a majority of their players won’t go because they have made this server there home for quite some time now, and we are not doing anything other then playing the way we always have so us ‘demolishing’ the tier isn’t because of us but because of lack of other servers participation however this does not belong in this thread, but in our matchup thread, my apologies. Can’t edit now though since I’m on my phone and I can’t move around easily. Continue.

Wild card: SoR. They haven’t really been “tested” yet to see how they deal with losing after a long winning streak.

Jq deff sits at number 1 considering it has never tanked and been competing with the most stacked servers in t1 since launch. Every contender in t1 last year is long gone except jq

Actually, VS has been longer in t1 than JQ. I have no clue, why NA players mostly stay fixed only on their ladder (and also seem to ignore any EU-related posts).

Yes, let’s please keep the transfer stuff out of this thread, as it’s not relevant to the OP.

As for most stable servers, I’d have to say:

HoD
SoS
Kaineng
DB

I would definitely say JQ is one of the most stable because we’re the last standing in T1 and as people have posted before with the MOS rankings, the most consistent. Guilds come and go, other servers come and go, PvE events come and go, big egos come and go, but JQ is the honeybadger and remains T1. We’ve only dropped to T2 once and that was back in the Titan Alliance days of HoD, months and months ago.

Our community pretty much shrugs off drama like water off a duck’s back – we watch the drama then move on with our business. Someone else in the thread mentioned that the guilds that transfer into SoR stay there, the same can be said for JQ; SF and PRX/WARD are a notable pair of big name guilds that are still here. We also have some very consistent guilds that have been on JQ since day one like my own, HzH that have no intentions of leaving JQ.

JQ is the longest surviving server on T1, in NA

they have been in the same tier FOREVER and only changed between last and 2nd last rank for 6 times while viz changed between first and 2nd rank for 10 times!
