Hi everyone, I’m a new player and would like to know the top america servers to join. Can I still get into the “tier 1” servers (blackgate, etc.)? How do I know how many people there are in the “very high” population servers? Basically, I want to get into the best one possible, but don’t know which to choose.

What is ‘best’? Best at what? I could go down an entire list of things that could go into a decision on that, and no one server would meet all the criteria. Additionally it depends on times you play too, and no, all 3 tier 1 servers are Full, and I do not think they open up at all anymore for transfers.

It really comes down to what you are looking for, for you to try to find out which is best for you.

The server rankings arent about which server is best, its a ranking of which servers have the most numbers and coverage.

The tier/match-up system in GW2 is pretty much determined by server population. The higher the tier, the more players they have that play WvW. But if you’re curious, this is how Anet divides the tiers:

  • T1-2 = Gold League
  • T3-5 = Silver League
  • T6 – 8 = Bronze League

If you want a lower population but still have a bit of action, I’d join a server at the top of each league. with the exception of T2 in NA, they’re known for more organized GvG’s so if that’s what floats your boat try them out.

Remember, after you find a server, its finding a guild to join.
