Top WvW Roamer Builds
If you’re looking to hardly ever lose a duel, then the dire chrono condi build is the way to go https://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Chronomancer_-_Condi_Roamer
Cheese build, you need to swap Arcane Thievery for Decoy depending on opponent (basically anything except Rev, Necro (hah) and other Chronos). Arcane Thievery is redundant with Sword 1 auto and Shatter condi cleanse so run Decoy by default.
Portal for Signet can be useful in many situations (havoc team hunting you, zerg nearby, general shenanigans with towers/keeps, etc.)
F5, Decoy + Moa Morph is well…makes it the ultimate cheese sandwich once you set up your army.
It’s still the #1 carry build for sure and allows so much fight reset without penalty because of F5 (needs a huge HoT power creep nerf especially in WvW/PvP). The only problem with it is the boredom factor (learn the kite to get illusions/get in burst rotation (easy to do with low cooldown teleports)/repeat if necessary). It suffers from random terrain problems with illusions tracking appropriately to opponents so try to hit everything out in the open. And pretty much no one want to fight you ever 1v1…
Tried condition chrono and found it pretty trash in WvW.
Any one with a brain can just run away from you and you have very little chasing potential. Don’t know how players find it to be strong.
Yeah, it can kill bad players easily but so can 1000 other builds.
I much prefer power mesmer to condition in WvW(although in PvP condition mesmer is better). For power mesmer, you land a burst, you do massive damage and get the kill.
For condition mesmer, you land a burst, the opponent just cleanse everything and run away.

Chrono mobility is extremely high honestly (+25% speed trait and teleports). Torment condition spam kills runners over and over (and confusion condi kills the skill spammers). You aren’t going to kill most thieves because they just perma-stealth/run too if that is what you are implying.
The other top tier roamer build is standard D/P daredevil thief (although condi thief version seems mighty close now) but you won’t be killing a chrono condi roamer that knows any type of rotation/knows when to run too.

25 passive speed and a blink at 30 sec won’t help you chase down any one.
Torment and confusion are probably the weakest damaging conditions. Everyone has some sort of condition cleanse to remove the first application. You have to reapply them to get the job done but if they run away you won’t have the chance.
I even tried viper chrono for the damage but it is so bad.
Your burst damage is worse than berserker chrono and you get 1 shot by thief. Not worth at all.
I wonder if you were one of those terribad condi mesmers I’ve met this week? The build is certainly very strong, but, somehow, some people manage to be mind-blowingly awful with it. I’m not sure what they’re doing wrong.
You’re right about the burst, though a condi build isn’t about burst damage anyway. You should be stealthed, evading or blocking almost the entire time while your condis go to town.
Condi mes is pure cheese, constant 11stacks of to me at ans confusion, while they either double mass invisi/moa and block/invuln.
But as for your question op metabttle has actually updated their builds foe wvw and the basis behind them is not bad to suit.

Hahahaha!!! Outside of some outlier situations, Confusion does more damage than burning with one skill use per second of target and it will do activation damage at least once. Torment weak against constantly moving player targets in WvW/PvP ? This comment wins.
Reapply? Yeah, that’s called attacking with the normal multi-burst rotations. It’s expected that people cleanse conditions – if they didn’t they would be beaten by pretty much any half decent build.

Roaming is what I’ve always done primarily in WvW, all of my builds are on my website listed above and in my signature. Several have videos of game play as well.

Definitely not because we are on the same server.
I have been playing condition mesmer in PvP for quite a bit and knows the mechanics pretty well. All of you are welcome to duel me in PvP area if you question my understanding of this build.

or maybe your just bad at Mesmer and using the wrong weapons (probably staff) Mesmer is one of the classes which vipers gear is strongest on, you just have to not be an idiot.
TBH the majority of condi builds are cheese. They are typically easy mode variant of their class. Im guilty of playing a burn DH and my p/p condi engi (Engi was played/built way before HoT, when pistol/shield was condi meta)
Some cheese is based on the damage itself and some cheese is based on the synergy of how often / how safely they can be applied (either sustain, or perma evade DD teef garbage)

I’m going to regret posting in this thread but I have to comment and say a word of fairness. Condi mes does not gain from some of the buffs to chrono skills, the old traditional build suffers from lack of mobility and anyone can run away from you. of course you can swap for some mobility but at the cost of damage as with everything else. In actual fact, some builds, especially the warrior ones totally eat pure condi mesmers up. There’s always a counter to everything. The only definitive point is what you are specced for.

@Roxanne
Everyone can run away from you, but if you’re taking an objective that’s not really an issue. Also, the class is annoying not because of it’s raw power but because of the way its power is implemented. It has the standard condi problems and, since reapplication is so easy and durations are so long and confusion/torment are the most damaging conditions, it literally hurts to deal with. Throw in stealth, blocks, evades en masse and even the bad ones feel grimy.

You can’t take an objective if you are stealthed. Unless they changed that then I have nothing to say rofl. What I am getting from this post is you want it gone because you can’t stand it. I can’t stand dealing with such builds too, but as I mentioned before, there are counters.
Back when power was the deal, people complained about pirate meta. Now people are complaining about conditions too. tbh, i don’t mind them nerfing condi, all the condi gear are so expensive. urgh

You can’t cap it while stealthed, but if your opponent has to run away, you don’t have to stealth.
I dislike it because it’s no fun to fight. There are counters that make it easy to beat and then there’s everything else where you’re just shooting in the dark. There’s nothing that I’m doing in the fight that is really engaging. I clear condis at certain intervals that don’t seem to matter much since they’re reapplied so easily. I try to land attacks through the stealth/block/evade but whether I land enough in time seems largely out of my hands depending on what class I’m playing. Worse, it’s not like I’m being outplayed—it’s just someone spamming skills off cd. Win or lose, it’s just a pain to deal with.
Contrast with pre-nerf Gunflame warriors. Getting nearly one-shotted (depending on class) wasn’t fun, but if I managed to dodge or reflect it then I felt pretty good. There were clear avenues to take and the trick was choosing more of the right ones than my opponent. It may not have been balanced, but it did feel like a fight. Even if I was playing a glassy character, I had things I could do to try and win.
Pirate meta was more about stability and boonstrip than power/condi. The latest stab changes were a good compromise in stepping back from that. The complaints about condi center around the binary nature of it. Either you have the means to render it useless or you get destroyed. There’s not a whole lot of in between. This is more or less the case for solo, small team and zerg fights.
D/P Power Stealth Thief, Condi Chrono Mes, Condi Thief (several variants), Stun Lock Warrior and Blow-up Burn DH seem to be the current roaming meta builds. In an outnumbered fight, Condi Chrono Mes has no equal. Sure they aren’t high on mobility but they are slippery, dish out heavy condi burst and are extremely durable. They are also very strong in skirmish play.
There are some Power Mes, Chill Necros and some Rev builds that get the job done but they are not as prevalent. Some roll with Druid but they either have to be super tank with stealth or somewhat glassy to be dangerous. The trap build can be surprisingly nasty.

Looking for any types of Wvw roamer builds prefer to play condi tho
To be honest, most of the WvW builds are secret and are published on the respective guild forums and stuff so other servers don’t counter it.
It also depends on their comp so… You’ll only find roaming builds mostly around open buildcrafter sites.
