I dont think you quite how the world rank is these days, its a show population and coverage. nothing more nothing less.

Previous pricing was scaled based on total server population, but really it is the WvWvW population that has reason to transfer servers, especially now with megaservers.
This is an excellent point. The PvE environment has changed, and when you are on (server’s name here) it prioritizes you to your guild, friends list, and server-mates, without the walling-off of different populations.
Lowering the transfer cost by wvw ranking is the only limiting factor left that makes any sense, simply because most servers would necessarily have their wvw as a percentage of their total population, and an influx of wvw bandwagoneers to ET, for instance, would only bolster their total population, eliminating the issue of potential Super-Servers, which could drain resources trying to map too many people into common instances of outside-city areas.
I don’t think we need any apologies or reparations, though… it’s their game and they can set the rules however they like.

Since you named HoD as a server FA is unable to stomp “single handily”, they make a perfect example. HoD has a transfer price of 1000 gems while FA costs more than double that to transfer to. And it’s the same situation for a few servers lower in rank to FA, SBI if I recall correctly. SBI can single-handedly stomp servers lower in rank to itself too. Transfers to SBI are discouraged because HoD only costs 1000 gems to transfer to. Are you trying to say that’s fair? It seems at this point that you are just arguing for the sake of arguing.
BTW, there is no gold, silver, bronze league anymore. The tournament is over.

Not sure if making another thread was needed, but it would be nice to hear something about this from Anet by now.<.< Hopefully it be back to normal tomorrow at the latest, but man this is another blow from the tournament that already over.

Dude, you lose credibility by ranting on and on about this. You made your thread, you don’t need another essentially identical one a day later. If you have a server you have to get to in a hurry, pay the gems and go.
If not, then just wait. And no, you don’t need to know the date that they’re going to change ahead of time.
Oops, slipped their mind as it was wvw related and no one bothered to put in a note to remind anyone that it needed to be done. Luckily the players reminded them and 4 days later they pushed through emergency changes to the pricing.

Obviously the tournament is over, the point that you….missed, was to pick out two servers within a respective range hence why i was having you pick from the silver league, that would give you a practical run for your money…… clearly none of them jumped out at you without having to have hod on the map.

Time to start a new thread. The WvWvW rank-based prices were a good idea since the bulk of transfers come from the WvWvW population, just not when they persisted for 9 weeks and didn’t reflect current rank.

Slapping people on the wrist harder for going to a higher pop WvW server isnt going to fix anything in the long run. How about a slap on the wrist for going to a high pop WvW server, and a hug for going to a lower pop one?
If you dont get the analogy, charging people a few hundred gems more for transferring to a winning server isnt going to stop them. The rewards and prestige they can get from being on a high pop is worth a bit more to many players as opposed to being on a losing server. However, if you charged gems for going to high pop, and made low pop transfers free, or even god forbid, gave people a reward (nothing huge) for transferring to a low pop, then it would even out.
Yeh, there are some flaws with rewarding people for moving to lower population servers. But honestly, the only way I can think to abuse for free gold is with a new account. The account joins a T1 Gold or a high pop, then transfers to a lower pop server, pocketing the reward. But its not repeatable, because the reward is just high enough to be worth it to some, yet low enough so its not profitable. Thats the ideal way to go about this imo.

It is extremely unfair of you to not have adjusted transfer prices right as the season ended (Your blog post said tournament pricing is from March 28th – May 30th). This is the time when players are looking to transfer and my server cannot compete fairly for these transfers (in the free market of transfers) against servers with a transfer price more than double of what it costs to transfer to a server at a higher rank.
I demand free transfers to affected servers as compensation for this blunder on your part.
