This is still the only game mode that will cost you an arm and a leg if you want to play with friends that are on another server. Especially now when some servers are “merged” you have 1/3 being completely “Full” and another third set at “Very High” (1800 Gems). Will this ever be looked at or will WvW players remain the only ones that have to bring out their wallet or farm hundreds of gold for a single transfer? I am fully aware that free transfers will potentially cause harm, but surely there can be other ways to control population other than a hefty paywall?

You should have transferred a couple weeks before the patch…..I did with one of my accounts, and it only cost 500 gems to go pretty much anywhere.

And yea, after the patch, they jacked the transfer costs through the roof again.

Just transfer to the low pop servers that got merged, still only 500 gems. You can play all day with your pals.

They didn’t jack the costs, they said they lowered all the thresholds for full servers etc. to prevent major overstacking during server links and patches, which is a great thing.

Yea, some people got caught on the wrong side of it, but overall its a very good and sensible thing they did.

Please bring back free transfer. I want to band wagon to the most over stacked server called Tarnished Coast! I don’t want to delete all my characters again like what I did to band wagon over to Yaks Bend previously.

IOJ is always looking for more. It would be the best 500 gems you ever spent.

I went ahead and did it anyways. But, I had two accounts……if I had only one account, I would have followed Anet’s advice. In the end, it worked out great for both accounts.
