Im from hedge, with some friends. Were looking to transfer to a diff server.
I’d like to try to get onto a good server, with not so long Q times (3-5 hours is not okay, lol)

Anyway, anyone have info on:

Stormbluff Isle Gates of Madness Isle of Janthir ??

Their Q times arent up on the Q time list forums, however, they seem much shorter than HoD. Is this still the case? Anyone know about them/if theyre organized, etc?

Also willing to look at other servers, Just really want organization and whatnot and wins :p

Stormbluff isle is a top ranked WvW server and has an equally long queue time of 5 hours.
The following 3 have very fast queues. However you’ll want to know the following, in addition to their always last place status.
Sea of Sorrows is also an unofficial oceanic server.
Sorrow’s Furnace and Baruch Bay are unofficial spanish speaking servers.
Darkhaven is an unofficial Brazilian server.

Fort Aspenwood was medium population since launch, and started to hit high in primetime, so that is worth a look. However I don’t know how well they perform in WvW.

Northern Shiverpeaks, Eredon Terrace, and Furguson’s Crossing are all fast WvW queue times, but perform badly at WvW.

Fort Aspenwood is bad now. Back in beta we dominated everyone. Now all the people that want to win came to Fort Aspenwood and sapped our slots in WvW and the good PVPers left.

Sure we can get organized but its super hard. I lead a group and took Dreadfall bay(hehe the enemy didnt see that coming) but since then Fort Aspenwood has gone down hill. Though as for our opponents we seem to be matched against good opponents as the scoring is on equal grounds now.

Are you sure you’re not just being paired against the top servers? Stormbluff isle was in 1st place, by far, in every match for the entire first week. Then we started to get paired with servers like henge and gotta whooped bad. Now we’re back against previously lower bracket servers who worked their way back up, and we’re beating them badly. It would be a lot easier to understand if we could actually see the global server scoreboard!!! Stormbluff isle also had a huge population WvW players which just farm npcs. This is not the case on many servers though.

I dunno Fugly, ET is often against HoD…they can’t perform that badly if they’re facing off against equivalent servers.

The reason ET is ranked highly is because it is frequently paired with other lower population servers. The other lower population servers are (unofficial) Australian or Asian servers. Thus during US primetime, the opposing servers are empty and ET dominates WvW. Two days ago when I looked at 9 p.m. EST, Eredon Terrace had a score of 24,000, against 1,500 Sea of Sorrows (the Australian sever), and one other which was below 2,500, (forgot which).

However, when my server Stormbluff Isle played against Eredon Terrace, Eredon was last with 1/5 the score of others.

Dragonbrand is right in the middle of the pack here with about 10-30 minute Q’s on average. We also have a very solid group of WvW guilds on our server.

Wait what. If These servers are constantly paired against each other how can 1 of them be highly ranked. Wouldn’t these ‘night capping’ servers have huge point leads with no resistance?

Fugly, out of most of our matches, HoD is our opponent along with a third server. Now free server transfers need to end so they can’t stack the deck.

Wait what. If These servers are constantly paired against each other how can 1 of them be highly ranked. Wouldn’t these ‘night capping’ servers have huge point leads with no resistance?

I don’t know why the pairing occurs this way, but that is what I have observed. Regarding night capping, it is occurring on high pop servers too. On my server, Stormbluff isle for example, we have several large Korean guilds do our night capping which is one reason we’re rated highly. We have a high US prime time population too. Night capping on other servers, like sea of sorrows, is paired with their near empty WvW roster during US peak hours, so a low overall total score – but exceptionally low score/capture rate during US peak hours – right after the resets.

I guess we’ll see how SI does against ET in today’s matchup

Esp. considering the last time HoD/SI/ET faced off on the 7-8th of September with HoD coming in first place (just), with SI losing by a significant margin

Would like more info on servers if anyone has any!

IoJ has a low US pop atm so no wait times into combat, we have a strong Overnight presence that is keeping us high in the rankings. The US guilds are well organized but lack the numbers of US prime time.

I’m checkin’ today’s match out. Lol good job ET so far. Better pull an all nighter to combat the Koreans, don’t want to fall behind now.

good idea I know a good group of Korean players who just started out lol. They shall come with me to my server lol.

ET has a good group of Oceanic’s…will be a good fight.

Would be a better fight if HoD wasn’t in the mix tho. Those guys are boring.

Why boring

b/c at the moment they’re unshakable, their 1st placing in the current metagame is a given. 2nd and 3rd is where the interesting stuff is happening.
