Did you refer to that quote from Devon Carver?

“We will continue to work on these abilities in the hopes of making them more fun and providing more variety. We are however quite set on not adding power creep, at least not much, which makes them fairly constrained. We have yet to unleash our craziest ideas.”

That sounds a bit different.

No culling has been around for WvW for ages. However, T1 servers will get increasingly laggier, as their PvE side will now increase the load on the already exhausted hardware.

That is however assuming that WvW runs on the same server cluster as PvE, which is quite unlikely (especially since they shut down at different times during patching and such).

PvE lag did not increase with the removal of culling in WvW after all.

The servers are most likely situated in the same server center. Which means that it is the same router/switch system that has to cope with an radically increased amount of traffic.

That sounds a bit different.

I can provide you with any number of quotes from Anet devs, most of which haven’t quite worked out as promised. “Play the game your way” and “Anet doesn’t make grindy games” both come to mind.

This isn’t just creep. Zerg players have always had a solid advantage over defenders simply because it’s the fastest way to level, gain karma/gold/fun, so more players play that way then choose to defend. More people will give up defending because the Zergstars now have an even greater advantage.

The development team also said sPvP would be an e-sport.

They also said that one dungeon run would equal one piece of armor.

They also said “When It’s Ready.”

They also said, “We don’t want players to grind. No one enjoys that, no one finds that fun.”

The development team lost the privilege of professional trust with its consumer base many months ago. It’s a “see it to believe it” environment now, that they themselves created.

I was kind off worried about the development of a treb mastery line. While I do think that it is cool and all, I worry about the part of increased radius. How many keeps and towers are going to be hittable from far away locations with a ranked treber that was never hittable before?
As an example, trebs that can be fired from north side of Stonemist castle to hit overlook keep south wall. There are already a few places where you can place a Stonemist treb to hit overlook keep, and it is almost completely out of range of aoe attacks from the ground. (we like to refer to it as the sneaky spot)
I just pray that there is never a golem mastery added, or at least that it isn’t overpowered. Golem rushes already have gotten enough of a “boost” from being buyable on the trading post. (seriously, an alpha golem for under 20 silver???)

You will get a level 181, 61 … and so on.

As far as I can tell there will be not retroactive rewards for things we have gained so far. It did not happen when they doubled the WXP gain a few months back, the same happens now.

I seriously hope we can reset the points in this patch then because this getting ridiculous. They just introduce more and more crap without giving us the option to spec it. It was just one reset when they first started with it, then nothing despite new mastery lines.

They’re only adding an ability point, not a whole wvw rank level. Its probably so that it reads better with rank levels and points. Currently rank 5 means you have 4 ability points and getting 10 ability points means getting to rank 11. The addition of the extra point will mean that your ranking will now be equal to your ability points. Just a small change really.

The WXP boost is to basically everything and should significantly increase the rate at which characters gain ranks.

Maybe one day they will address the almost complete lack of achievement points in wvw , and fix the loot drop rate for rares and exotics so that it is more comparable to pve. I get more drops and make more money in the time I spend in the queen’s thing waiting on the queue (10-20 minutes) then I do for the rest of my playing time spend entirely in wvw.

come on… 20g/hour is like 3x better than cof. 10-15 levels/hour (on uplevels) is far better than crafting. those are optimized numbers, but so was cof and so is crafting.

My issue is with the Wxp increase across the board.

Currently if I defend a tower and somehow manage to pull off a gold it’s 112wxp, if I manage to get gold for 15 mins (5 defences) I would earn myself 560 Wxp. Now if I was to go out into the Zerg in arou d 15 mins i could find myself fighting an enemy Zerg and spam guardian staff 1 potentially earning myself 15-20+ kills which is a maximum of 900-1200 wxp. That’s a difference of 340-640 wxp!

Let’s say we double the Wxp across the board, so a tower is worth 224wxp and players are worth a maximum of 120 each. Say the same events as above happen, my tower defence would net me 1020, and the player encounters would get 1800-2400 wxp making the difference 680-1280 Wxp!

See how this makes zerging much more attractive? It’s becoming even more rewarding to ignore your structures and run around spamming auto attack, and that’s before we even factor in any rewards for taking structures which are also a lot higher than any defence rewards are…

The funny thing is, I play wvw for the ppt the way it was designed, yet I am 100% certain that people who only enter wvw to participate in GVG events are much much higher ranks than I am even though I put a lot of hours/gold/siege into wvw. It’s upsetting.

Can’t wait! I wish every time anet comes out with a new rank we get a rank point reset though. So annoying seeing new ranks and having no points to redistribute.

Also I think world xp points should come a lot faster. I WvW a LOT and I’m only rank 111. I basically no life WvW and I’d still need nearly 200 more ranks just to max out the supply capacity rank for +5 supply. Ridiculous!

I hope the WXP points come A LOT faster than they currently do.

Wouldn’t the “gaining” 1 ability point for each character be exploitable? I mean levels 1-5 for wvw rank is so easy to achieve. Create new character…….level it to rank 5, delete character, repeat………..

Quick easy way to gain ability points for your main……..

Just saying if that is how its going to work how do you stop that from occurring?

Why all these siege mastery things that make zerging and the overuse of siege even more rewarding? Why no defensive abilities? And IMO, the few defensive abilities we have now need to be buffed. They’re pitiful compared to the offensive ones. The siege masteries give such huge boosts but stuff like siege bunker gives a measly 5% for all those points invested in it. Should be a 25% boost since the offensive ones give so much benefit.

If you are talking about wxp being shared your new character wouldn’t be rank 1 when you made them they would be whatever rank your main was. You wouldn’t be able to exploit account bound wxp that way.

If you are talking about wxp being shared your new character wouldn’t be rank 1 when you made them they would be whatever rank your main was. You wouldn’t be able to exploit account bound wxp that way.

This is what OP stated:

“New characters will start off with one ability point, and all existing characters will receive one more”.

How do you interpret that?

I interpret it as "when each character levels all existing characters on the same account will gain one more ability point. Not sharing wxp.

@Jaytee it is simple. They added +1 point to default character numbers. So You cannot exploit it.
Every character You now have will receive 1 point because they started with 0 and now every character will start with 1.
Its one time gain of 1 point. And every new character wil lstart with 1 point instead of 0.
If there would ever be account bound WXp, you cannot exploit it too, because wxp level will be shared cross your characters and that why you wont get any point by creating new character.

Defense/Upgrade mastery:

- Personnel upgrades and additions you order finish 50% faster.
- Structural upgrades you order require 20% less supply.
- Purchase upgrades for 25% less coin.
- Structural upgrades you purchase are fitted with anti-personnel spikes. (Grants retaliation [based on 2500 power])
- ‘Hire Additional Guards’ upgrades you purchase now spawn a Veteran Sentinel who slowly patrols the exterior walls of a structure and will ping the mini map of allied players if (s)he locates enemy forces. (Limited to 2,000 range enemy detection and 20,000 range for player minimap pings).

Just my opinion but Siegeraiser was bad enough. I don’t want NPCs making a ninja very hard unless you’re using ranged siege.

We need more basic features for players, not new NPCs.

The back items will be coming, and any and all future ascended gear will not be excluded from WvW if I have anything to say about it, and I do.

It took me ages to kit my Ele out in Ascended gear and to be honest it made kitten-all difference. (No way am I doing PvE)

I haven’t bothered with the Guardian I rolled last – got about 100+ laurels in the bag from dailies but I’m sticking with the exotics.
