Trebs and thier distance in fireing
Trebs are meant to be long range artillery to bombard your keep. If you want them to stop, go out there and kill it, or have trebs of your own setup in the keep to counter theirs.
dont you ever watch the punkin chunkers on tv. Those treb’s fire longer range than some modern sniper rifles do…
Arrow carts do too much damage. Catapults knock me down. balastia kill me if I stand still. Please fix.
“Did you see that? Tell me you saw that!”
I like them being such long range, because it sets a nice tactical flavor to certain things. Remember, catapults exist too, with less cost of silver and Supply, but with a shorter range. Players are rewarded with spending more money on something with more strategic importance.
Speed boosts and teleportations are limited-range, and no it’s not an exploit to be able to spot your enemy and chase them down, cripple/chill/immobilize them, and kill them. That’s just your own ignorance (ignorance is not stupidity, so this is not an insult) of the game hampering you. You should stay further back if you plan to retreat (and bring a speed buff of your own, like Swiftness, which almost all professions can get easily).
There are only 2 spots in the game that trebuchet placement is a little obnoxious – hoomeworld citadel on south cliff. Where ranged AOE from below is virtually impossible to hit, and equally displaced – using a ball there, you cant target the treb, and the ball just hits the rock.
I think this is probably the only treb placement spot on map thats an actual bear to deal with. All other placements provide a challenge, and are appreciated.
