They should add a monthly fee to people using WvW on high population servers since they have a third viable game mode that low tier servers dont have. Problem solved.
The real solution is to balance the WvW servers so that each side has roughly the same number of players. They make you sit in queue for PvP…Why? Why not just pop 2 in vs 5? Its OK for WvW so why not pvp? Just yesterday I waited 15 minutes to play 15 minutes in pvp. If there was a queue system for WvW that would have probably been 7 minutes for the entire night.
Why are they so scared of a queue? You want a system that encourages balance? Make people on overpopulated servers wait in the queue…they will quickly transfer to a lower population server. I GUARANTEE it!

Queues are up to 2 hours on reset night with queues reaching 100 people or more, other border can be 20+ with a 30 minute queue so yeah we queue long enough already.
This new system will atleast go a long way to help the population disparity, the owrst example being SFR, they can blob on most border for 16 hours a day and you have zero chance of beating them, not because htey are good becuase they are terrible and thier blobs are easily killed by smaller numbers.
As a WvW’r (Not a PvE Mike O’Brien) this amazing and the lower tiers should get more people come to them as the transfer fee will discourage people from moving/bandwagoning up to SFR/Deso/Piken, You’ll see people transfer with thier heads and not thier kitten s.
Or just go ahead and move on up at the price many people have already paid to get there. No one made low tier players stay in low tiers. The cost won’t be any higher than it is now to move up. Just a whole lot lower to move down.

That happened not so long ago when they reduced the WvW pop cap to reduce lag. Many guilds moved to other servers and I do think that helped the balance. Check the T3/T4 match up form end 2014 begining 2015 and stuff started to balance out after march(I think the wvw cap was added in march)
Check my server History NSP. It a good gauge since we always were a mid tier server and our pop never really fluctuated much.
We get 3-8 mans queue on either Home server or EB on NA primetime. I’m not used to queu and would be frustrated If I had to wait more than 2 minutes.

This isn’t going to get more people to play lower tiers. Those that want competitive game play will come into a lower tier ghost town, think the game died already and go play a game that has people to play with. If I was forced to play on a lower tier I would have quit the game after a week. I have been on servers where I was the only person on the map. Why would I want to play like that? Not everyone plays NA prime.
ALSO: Getting people to a low tier server isn’t the problem, creating a community where they want to stay there is. Many people start out on low tier servers and transfer off because the community there is not what they want to play with.
I sure do not want to run around with a bunch of disorganized people not using team speak, not running proper builds and classes not forming proper parties just kitten ing around. I want to actually play and if the server I am stuck on isn’t giving me that competitive experience, I wouldn’t play that game anymore. I would go play game where I could get an actual competitive experience instead.

Well other servers stole all our guilds and players and we still winning. For example FSP failing to win kitten is probably biggest bandwagoning fail in GW2 wvw history. Pro tip: if you frigging bandwagon all blob guilds in one server at least try to win something.

What changes is the definition of of what is Very High ect. Atm it takes into account both PvE and WvW players. After patch its not going to care about those players who only play PvE. Some servers might become easier to transfer to, and some servers might become FULL.

That is a relief. When they told me EoTM was going to be counted I was like WHY? WHY would they do that?

EoTm has its own population problem. Red is always the least populated servers and Red always gets farmed. This ought to be fixed someday.
