So since I’m from EU, I was not able to play the game, when the patch got released. Today, like 2h ago I logged into gw2, and for some unknown reason I’m unable to see Team chat messages ,apart from my own. I thought the chatbox settings got messed up, but everything’s fine as it was before the update. I checked and unchecked the “team chat” box in settings multiple time, doesn’t seem to fix the problem.
I spammed team chat, hoping someone will eventually see reply as well, and ended up 1 guy replying to me, saying he sees my messages, but noone else’s. So turns out we only see each other team caht msgs, but if anyone else types something, it doesnt appear.
I’ve asked my guildies about this, some people said they had this issue as well, submitted ticket to Anet, but all they did, was suggested to “tick and untick team chat box in chat options” , which was useless suggestion.

So I was wondering, if anyone else is having this problem, and know how to fix it?

Is it possible nobody on your server is using team chat?

I mean I’m from maguuma. Cancer in team chat goes nonstop. I’ve asked friends to text in team chat, they did (showed screenshots) and i was unable to see anything

I’m on mag as well, team chat hasn’t been working for me for awhile. I agree with you Tom on the chat issues. It’s abusive, sexist, racist, and people are afraid to say anything for fear of being trolled and jumped all over. I just try to shrug it off and report the person if it’s really awful and harassing to other players.

Ahhh i had this problem when the game launched years ago. I think deleting the game dat file and letting it repopulate fixed it for me.

The file at one point grew to impossible sizes and caused this bug. Looking at my screenshot, I’m seeing it’s massive again.

Be patient though, repopulating will take a bit to download.

I am experiencing the same. Unable to see team chat but people are able to see mine. Strangely I am able to see the team chat of other people affected by this. Really strange bug.

Redownloaded entire Gw2.dat file, team chat still doesn’t work. Submitted a ticket, Anet reviewed it once, 6 days passed by, still no reply lmao. Honestly I have no clue how to fix this issue…

Seems Anet had to do something to fix it.

Is all good, less than hour and had it back again. But still, can’t seem to find a solution for it…
