Underwater Keep
De Mortuis Nil Nisi Bonum.
I like that idea
it would give anet the incentive to rework some under water skills and that would make us not just use them more, but use them gladly
I really like the fact that gw2 has under water combat and the way it works is a lot of fun
I wish they’d give this mechanic a little more meaning in wvw
Agree, needs to be more UW combat imo, certain areas. I like it, at times.
Ill start working ok my Ascended speargun and breather!
Oh wait underwater combat is horrible. Nevermind.

I dont see how they can do underwater combat again (we had the lake in previous borderlands before they made it the bloodlust caps). That means they would have to balance professions for underwater WvW combat. Which they wont do.
I find underwater combat overall super enjoyable in GW2 especially compared to other games. Unfortunately some classes skills had it a lot better than others. I really miss Raid on the Capricorn in pvp. An entire keep underwater might be interesting. I’d welcome an “underwater rework” patch.
There seems no reason at the moment to have underwater zones , I hope they do rework the underwater mechanics, for example having a sort of underwater battering ram. Just something to test out if a underwater keep would be viable and fun would intresting to see.
underwater combat was epic. It made me love gw2. Now it’ s gone…sadness
So considering the new borderlands maps contains keeps of 3 of the 4 elements (not in beta so maybe missed details on 4th) any word on whether or not a water keep was planned for? Talking with others there is mixed thoughts about re-introducing a reason for underwater combat in WvW. Would be interesting to have a keep that is completely submerged.
I’m pretty sure that only 3 keeps were ever meant to be made for the new bl since it’s supposed to match the number of points that it’s replacing. But, even though it doesn’t have a keep, I think water is actually represented via the Oasis at the center. Also, considering this is the “Desert Borderlands”, it makes sense that ANet would put higher emphasis on the other elements to compliment that sort of standardized view.
As for the other part, I would love more access to underwater combat. Especially the kind that amounts to more than puddles, where people can just camp on the land and range you down.

It feels like players move in slow motion when fighting on land as it is, since thy move so ridiculously slow under water it just makes combat that much worse under water. I wish they would just speed up characters in water and on land and I would be happy. They run too slow, move too slow, skills are too slow, takes too long to do everything. It is like the enemies are standing still when you are killing them, it isn’t a challenge it is more like an execution.
WvW / PVP ONLY
I mean…. I main a ranger so for selfish reasons I wouldn’t mind some underwater combat…. but from a overall gameplay perspective they should definitely not do that.
Underwater combat in this game is terrible and why the breather mask isn’t purely cosmetic and you need to put a rune on it is mind boggling .
They removed the lake on the bl and the pvp map for a reason……U.W. Combat is just not that popular I don’t think….
ANet will have to upgrade underwater combat eventually. Otherwise killing the underwater dragon will be a total pain in the kitten .

Agree with this. Especially about the water breather, that thing needs to go already and let us use our normal helms for stats/runes. Cosmetic only is a good move.
