First of all, this is my first post on the forum seeing that I never really had any reason to post, but I feel that I should get this of my chest.

When I started doing WvWvW it didnt take long for me to fall in love with it because what’s more awesome then charging to castles in an attempt to take control of them while trampling desperate defenders. We didn’t always win, but there was ‘always a next time’.

The last few weeks we have faced servers that have much more players and especially more players that do WvWvW. As a result I kept seeing that ‘Greatly outmanned’ buff showing up more and more often. Not only during mornings.. but also some afternoons. So I went back to the forum and discovered that people can transfer for free to another realm. That explained a lot and angered me greatly. Not meant towards Anet.. but towards the cowardice rats that abandon our server to join the winning team. I guess that’s what they mean with ‘if you can’t beat them.. join them’.

Today it came to my attention that even one of the biggest wvw guilds on the server moved to Gandara, the team we faced last week that owned us by having 90% more points. Instead of trying to unite the guilds of underworld they selfishly choose to join the ones they had been swearing at for a whole week.

So much for loyalty to your server. I have been saving up a commander icon for a few weeks now, because I wanted to be part of the crew that would unite and save our server. Now I’m not sure if there is anything to save left.

Seeing that I didn’t just sign up here just to rant I also want to send out an invitation to players that are tired of winning and want to try the ‘hard mode’. If you want a new WvWvW challenge then you are most welcome on our server and in my guild. I believe that we can still get our server up the ranking ladder.. but I cannot do it alone.

Other solutions I see is merging our realm with one that is also small like us, or by providing rewards to players that choose to help an outmanned server. But that’s for Anet to decide.

More guilds have left to join them, Care (Mbit) being the latest. All because aNet allow people to transfer at will. We were barely able to put up a fight with these guilds, now they have left and taken a massive chunk out of the servers WvW playerbase, well I think WvW will be more or less dead. It is very, very frustrating as our guild Perdition (Evil) always tries to put up a good fight in WvW even though we do not have the numbers. Often we are 10 vs 40+, it’s very disheartening.

May I ask, which large guild moved over? I have been able to log in for the past few days, and I’m a member of one of the large WvW-guilds in Underworld.

As one of the largest guild leaders on underworld I need to correct your misconceptions. We already have an alliance of all of the largest wvw guilds on our server, with over 13 guilds a part of the same alliance at one point, we only started winning games when we formed the alliance. In fact this was the score the first time we met up as an alliance.

Our server has been dying for over a month now, when Elysium and the other greek alliance guilds moved servers we lost the Eternal battlegrounds main wvw force for our server, which had a add on effect of us either spreading our forces between all maps or having to focus on just one.

Other servers would take over Eternal as we didn’t have the man power to defend it anymore which meant the enemy forces could move more men onto other borderlands making it much harder for everyone. 3 or 4 weeks of this has caused other guilds not in the alliance to leave, meaning we have less public wvw guilds around to pick up the slack.

Now after weeks of us all playing together and still having the outmanned buff we are all disheartened, infact its come to the point where most of the WvW players are alliance and we are still outnumbered everyday.

End of the day we are on a server without a high WvW population anymore, and its ruining the enjoyment of players in guilds who enjoy WvW and want to play without being outnumbered in every situation we find ourselves in.

Fact is you are here whining about us when you have no idea what you are talking about, we united and still couldn’t get the same population as other servers since Underworld is a PvE server we have always been at a disadvantage. I have never even seen 1 of your guilds players on WvW, its unfair for you to judge so many guilds who have committed to daily events for months when you have such a small presence yourselves.

We have known about the leavers for weeks and we still stayed, Its just got to a point now where its often 5vs1, with everyone on our borderland uniting together and still been outnumbered in such a huge way its not enjoyable respawning over and over.

Im under the impression around 5-9 huge WvW guilds are leaving soon. Possibly more, you can’t blame that many people saying its their fault, if you want to blame anyone blame yourselves for not joining the majority and helping out.

Phoenix, thank you for your elaborate reply. Please do not misinterpret my words as it is our common goal to help the server getting up in the ranking ladder. The reason I made my post is to encourage people to join our server because it is ‘more of a challenge’.

I spoke to a guild master of a large WvWvW guild whom told me about the alliance that was in place. It did sadden us both when he told me that more and more guilds were falling apart or transferring to another realm. That’s when I concluded that this alliance wasn’t existing anymore. I also based my opinion on the score board. I figured that if there would be a good alliance still we would have more bases & points.

Don’t think I haven’t been helping in WvW. In contrary, I have been in there almost every day with my guild operating in small groups to take supply camps. I’ve also been leading some zerg groups to victories, so I will assume that when you say: ‘blame yourselves’ it is directed towards those that avoid WvW now that we are losing. But honestly, that is the same as deserting to another server.

I think we should talk ingame. You seem passionate and we share a common goal. Perhaps we can revive the alliance, and make it even better.

As an extra note, the guildmaster I spoke to has now transfered his whole guild to Gandara…

As much as I was surprised to see that Underworld guilds had moved to Gandara the other day when we were all nattering in /team chat on borderlands, I’m kind of happy because Fort Ranik were whooping our bum and they are this time but not as badly as they did last time.

The more the merrier for us but free transfers are harming communities and aren’t really allowing people to make the links they should be when playing content like WvWvW!

At this point even my guild, which is the one of the most stubborn in the alliance has seen what will happen.

Think about it like this, even if we all stay and only a few guilds move each guild that moves removes 100-500 wvw players from our pool. At a time where we are already outmanned.

Its now can our entire zerg hold one tower instead of a few weeks ago when we dominated entire maps.

If all of these guilds move I cant think of 3 large 500 man wvw guilds that would be on our server anymore :/

Anet really messed up our server, we have had a low population of active players for over a month now.

Don’t be sad wizard, now the epic battles begin. The bandwagonners have left and what remain are the hardcores, the resilient, the sturdy. The ones who truly matter for your server to get stronger again.

Soon those guilds that left for Gandara will leave there too, leaving Gandara crippled too.

I speak from experience, my server Ruins of Surmia had a lot of guilds transfer to Vabbi who lured the bigger guilds with sweet talk. Only recently we discovered that they left vabbi because they couldn’t handle the night capping and thus became the night cappers in an US server.

Despite all that, we in Ruins of Surmia will welcome you to the lowest tier because the Russians in Vabbi got tired of us “idiots” (as they call us) already. And don’t want to stay in the lowest matchup. Now if only they hadn’t called us idiots

PS: after all those guilds left, there was only 1 commander left who had just bought it, soon after I also bought commander to help out the server, which it did. You can’t rely on the organized guilds anymore. You need as many good commanders as you can. Spread out over several timeframes, and start making ninja squads.

Oh btw, All those people complaining that your server is in the worst position: well it’s not! There are way more server in a much worse position. And it really pisses me of when they start QQ’ing about all of that. Even with your population loss, you probably have way more people than us (RoS)
