This game already 4years.
Major people already spend A lot of time for they equipment. they don’t need to farm gold all the days.
in daily, they do some raid and fotm to prepare new update in the future
in other time, they go to wvw map to find some entertainment. because pve is very very very boring.
this time, anet keep lock t1 server. it make t1 guild very hard to keep running, it is because everyday guild member have different reason to afk or give up this game.
however anet just lock the server and kill these guild. when these t1 old band guilds
close up. i can 100% sure guild wars2 will lose a lot of players. no one want to come back, cuz they lose their guild. when anet destroy t1 guild and server, anet will destroy t2,t3 until to all people gone. for what? balance?
why anet think that t1 some server too strong? in t1 server many guilds already have 4 years, they are focus on wvw. they spend a lot of time to test for build data. so that normal people very hard to win them. moreover, i think anet don’t know that this game is strong guild to lead the server. lock the server is meaningless. today. Z house have some super warrior, so anet close the Z house door. when super warrior go to X house. Z house will open again and close the x house door. this is useless.
in other post, a lot of people give some useful suggest for anet. but anet just lazy to do these work. i can say that anet change scoring system can’t help wvw balance.
NO ONE CARE THE MARKS IN WVW WHEN WE WIN WVW GET NOTHING

Yes because full T1 servers have absolutely no players at all, they just got to T1 on their pretty looks.

except none of the ways to fix WvW are easy and Anet never puts enough resources to make it happen.

As I’m sure most people reading these forums are very well aware, the “Guild” in the name “Guild Wars” has absolutely nothing to do with player guilds:

I often wonder if Anet regret coming up with that name for their MMO. It has caused nothing but confusion ever since the first game was announced.

I often wonder if Anet regret coming up with that name for their MMO. It has caused nothing but confusion ever since the first game was announced.

At first, these were economic organizations, a means for merchants to meet, disseminate goods, and set prices. However, the guilds grew beyond the bounds of mere trade. Soon there were guilds geared toward warfare, religion, magical ability, and even social concerns—in short, any purpose that would bring together a group of people.

It’s called guild wars because of the conflicts between those “guilds”, not really any different than player “guilds”, which have mostly been formed with the same purposes but most of the conflict comes through warfare. Story wise both npc and players guilds would be the same thing, but player guilds are not written in the story other than your character in the living story now building their own “guild”.

While yes the name isn’t about guilds fighting in wvw, it still would have been nice to have support for them in there other than guild upgrades they repackaged into the guild hall.

The guild wars, conflicts between guilds, the one area (ok two if you want to count spvp) where that actually happens for players, is ignored.

Aye. Wouldn’t it be great if player guilds could grow to be such major forces in the game world, and then clash against each other? All the PvE areas being the battlefield. Guilds fortifying borders of the lands they had taken from the wild or other guilds. Unaffiliated having to pick a side or move out of the way.
