Disclaimer: I basically play 50% WvW/ 40% PvE/ 10% PvP, so I do NOT consider myself an expert of WvW AT ALL, but just for the sake of theorycrafting I was wondering…
Would it help WvW if you would get a set amount of points every minute, instead of every 15?
let’s just have a teorethical scenario
At the moment the points you get for camps/towers/keeps/SM every 15 minutes are 5/10/25/35plus one point every time you flip a sentry, what would happen if, let’s say, you would get 1/2/3/5/7 points every minute you hold a place of Interest (POI), and we get rid of righteous indignation?
I’ll not write down my opinion so we’ll not just talk about if I’m right or wrong, I just want some honest opinions from more experienced people.

I don’t think righteous indignation can be removed, because it is 1 of the main mechanics preventing zergs from being overly effective. RI prevents large forces from immediately recapping an objective like camps, making small teams that cut off zerg supply effective. It also allows groups that capture objectives time to potentially setup defensive positions, use up a locations resources, and allow supply dolyaks to start moving out of the camp before being taken down.
As for the points-per-tick changes that sounds like an interesting idea, although I’m not sure how changing how often points tick would affect things. Theoretically, it could encourage smaller teams to protect objectives like camps, since they’ll need to be held for more points and you may get a steady stream of action from teams trying to flip it more often. In practice however, I don’t think small teams or individuals would stick around to contest the point unless there was some sort of beneficial activity to be performed while potentially waiting around.
Yeah, you got a very good point in RI being essential especially when we consider dolyaks moving out of camps, I do also agree that there should be some bigger incentive to defend a point, rather than attacking it, but there’s plenty other topics talking about it already.

IMO, you’d be better off with objectives offering less points immediately as they’re ticked. So for example, as soon as you capture an objective, it only grants 50%, and every tick you hold it brings it up by 25%.
And maybe double camp points baseline, seeing as 90% of them are flipping quite frequently.
