The cost difference between exotic and ascended armor are grandmaster marks and some gold. So my suggestion would be to have a way to pay those extra grandmaster marks and gold in order to upgrade the armor to ascended.

ok firstly I’d like to point out that triumphant armor exists only in exotic variability dropped from reward track, I’ll assume you have meant triumphant hero’s armor in your post.

as far as I know both variants [exotic and ascended] of triumphant hero’s armor counts to unlock mistforged triumphant hero’s pieces which exchange grandmasters marks for WXP rank requirement.

the way I see it atm exotic variant exists only to cut down some costs while aiming for mistforged triumphants hero [which is shinier variant of the set]
