I’m a returning player who leveled my toons in WvW and Eotm.
After spending an hour in Eotm now I noticed I’m not gaining any levels from it.

What happened?

I don’t like PVE and this was the only feature of GW2 I used to like, was that I could level while “world pvping”…

Also, how much of the game HoT blocks me from?

you can still level. select a reward track and just keep playing and every once in a while the reward tracks grants tomes of knowledge.

but you cant exactly powerlevel yourself in a giant karma train because the tomes are time based instead of your main xp source being objective-capture-based.

so just get your participation up and flip a sentry every ~10 mins and semi afk, camp a tower or something and warn your neighborhood friendly commander when you sea a see of red names.

It’s actually even better than this in the end. Now you can play with your main to get levels for your alt instead of being one of the easy target uplevels(they are after all ridiculously weak) and weakening the army of your server

The removal of regular XP in WvW being replaced with tomes via BOTH rank up chests and reward tracks is superior.

With all the buffs you can tack on you can get quite the number of tomes just by running around on an 80 with the zerg.

There is no incentive to ever bring an uplvl into WvW anymore, unless it’s your one and only toon but still.. positive changes.

Exactly, if you want to level in WvW – dont. Use one of your 80’s and play without gimping an entire zerg. You get a ton of tomes, which can be used to bring your low levels up to 80 in seconds.

Yeah I have like 600+ tomes now from wvw. Actually a bit overkill. Nice to not have to grind to level alts though. Tomes to 80 and proofs of heroics for elite spec.

Reward tracks and rank up chests now give excessive amount of tomes.

Don’t argue with idiots, they pull you down their level and own you with experience.

With the amount of Tomes I’ve been getting I’m really not seeing how lack of exp gain is an issue.

I have fond memories of my severely underlevelled ele using swirling winds to save Bay from being trebbed from garri and SET from being trebbed by Hills.
