Now that the meta is all about numbers, the smart thing to do is to make a character that is good at not dying and tagging lots of enemies.

I noticed a few things during major lag:

-I get about 2x more loot on my guardian (staff) than my elementalist, and about3x more loot than my ranger.
-An elementalist’s switch to a different attunement is just as affected by lag as a cast. Making them almost twice a susceptible to lag as others.
-Staying in tight groups during heavy lag seems more effective, suggesting defensive boons are less affected than offence.
-Ground aoe circles do NOT register all hits that they should.
-Light armor classes die young, if they are not careful. If they ARE careful, they take more damage from retribution than anything else.
-Projectiles often miss or give out of range when they shouldn’t.
-It does not matter how much damage you do as long as your PARTY does enough to tag an enemy, all you need to do is hit it once.
-spells that hit through walls

So for me it’s kinda easy : log my guardian for lag fests and be in a party. There are no drawbacks I have found so far.

So what other classes / weapons / build are good at tagging?

Here is my experience with the 4 classes i play when it comes to lootbags per minute:

Bad during lag fest : thief, ranger
Reasonable during lag fest : elementalist (d/d is surprisingly better than staff, because ground aoe’s do not register correctly)
Good during lag fest : guardian. (especially staff/gs)

Warrior, I just mash one and stay with the herd, during lag.
