I play WvW for vabbi, we were T8 and won by over 100k points, we then got moved up to T7 and won again by a large distance… after that big win in T7, we got demoted back to T8 to the same people we just beat for 100k points.
Can someone please explain to me why the system or devs keep putting us into T8 when we clearly don’t belong here, having demolished T8 and T7 2 weeks in a row.

They don’t put you there. It kind of works like this:

Scroll to the second table “predicted rankings”
“New rating” is what’s responsible for your ranking – the ranking determines which tier you’re in. You’re green this week, green will get less “ranking points” for their PPT than blue and red. Sometimes it’s even impossible for a green server to rank up although they hold 350+ PPT 24/7.
Ok, currently your server has got 1331.614 points, the one above you has got 1352.264. You need one point more than them to rank up. You don’t fight them this week, so you’ve got no influence on how well they will be doing. You can only hope to gather enough PPT that you will overtake them which will be more difficult for you because you’re green this week. Good luck though =)
Edit: Or maybe it’s not bound to the colour but your current rank, so if you were green and fought against 2 servers with higher ranks you’d still get more points than them – I need to observe that. But I guess your initial question has been answered.

I don’t care what anyone calls it, it doesn’t make any sense whatsoever.
If the server are you are on always wins, that’s not right.
If the server you are on absolutely never has a win, that’s not right either.
If the “coverages” aren’t there, then WvW as a whole suffers and really does need a logical fix – one many of us have suggested for two years plus – choose the most viable one and fix this darn thing.

Awesome servers are doomed everytime people move in like ant invasion. I just didn’t expect this to happen to Vabbi.
