I belive you meant Edge of the Mists.
WvW Rank 3800 (Platinum Veteran) – PvP Rank 69 (Shark) – 25,9k Achievment Points
Mërcenaries [Sold] – Ferguson’s Crossing
i say no,
we need every voice on every opinion whether one has been playing long or newcomers
we will not improve WvW if new and better ideas can be shared by these newcomers if we suppress them
it will only discourage them to play WvW knowing that they are not a part of it…
Gate of Madness
Honestly, this has been discussed ad nauseum at this point.
Anet has previously reported (for one vote, anyway) that there was no major difference between general vote results and different filters they applied, like wvw activity (remember, they have all of this data regardless of who’s allowed to vote).
And, being someone who’s played wvw pretty much exclusively for the last several years, I’ve got a reasonably high rank. But I’ve barely been on the last few months and am generally curtailing the amount I sign in. Should my vote count more than someone who’s been playing a lot the last few months and will for the next couple of years too? I don’t think so.
And most of my time spent in wvw has been roaming, which means there’s a good chance I have considerably more time actually spent in game than someone of equal rank who’s spent 100% of their time at the back of a blob. Does that mean my point of view should carry more weight than theirs? No.
Anet’s doing a fine job with the voting.

Tbh honest i think the voting should be more focused on core players or at least 1year plus players.
I wouldn’t mind if they monitored how people voted depending on rank and activity (if this isn’t already happening). For instance there could be a vote where 60% say yes to something, though the vast majority spend little time in wvw and have next to no rank progression. Whereas 40% say no, and the vast majority are active wvw players who have active rank progression. So then Anet decides they won’t implement said change, because of it.

They claimed to have done that with the vote to bring back the DBL (iirc), and they said it didn’t seem to make much of a difference to the results. They can always run those filters after a vote, so a call to restrict the vote in advance is basically a call for less data.

Well that would leave me out Dogg.
Not sure about a rank restriction, regular players should get a vote even if they are relatively new to the game mode, but you sure as hell shouldn’t get the vote mail in EOTM.
