W VS W promotion system
Hello.
Have to admit I don’t like the idea, some of the reasons why:
* You’re increasing the number of servers when we already have a population problem (NA is 24, EU is 27, and your system suggests 27, so NA would have to gain 3 more servers. When the bottom servers already are underpopulated).
* There is no reason in this system to not stack higher servers.
* There is no reason to go to lower tier servers, because all rewards are higher in the higher tiers.
* The shifting of tiers is so slow that people would probably rather grind gold and transfer.
* Also I have no idea what the medals does other than bragging rights ?
If you want to make a difference between the tiers (gold, silver, bronze), I personally think there should be a difference in the gameplay, and completely separate them from each others. This will have its own problems of course, but for example:
Gold: Mostly as is, perhaps even a bit higher map limit. The full zerg experience.
Silver: Reduce the map cap down to 60 or so, and advertise silver as "a bit of everything server", some zergs, some roaming, some havoc groups, some defense etc.
Copper: Reduce the map limit down to 40, and say that the bronze servers are the no zerg land, small groups, havoc etc.
Lock them so that gold, silver and bronze are separate from each others. And let people get a free transfer to another tier (once every 6 months or so). This would at least make the tiers feel different from each-other. And let people pick a tier depending on what kind of game experience they where after. Would also work best if cut down the servers to 6in each tier, so total 18 servers (with current population).
Naturally this has a whole bunch of other problems. Just throwing out a different idea to ponder.
