I had a idea about how w vs w is going now, and smaller servers dont realy get a good change to get higher on ranking, and if they get higher on ranking they get to fight against big zergs/blobs.

I know with football you have different competitions for amateurs and proffesionals.

Why not do the same with gw2 w vs w.

Make a:
gold competition 9 servers
silver competition 9 servers
bronze competition 9 servers

Each year the lowest ranked server in gold competition will go to silver competition, the winner of silver competition will go to gold competition.

The lowest ranked server in silver competition will go to bronze competition, the winner of bronze competition will go to silver competition.

The medals system needs to be changed to make it more fair for silver and bronze competition, so i suggest:

Rewards gold competition:
first place 3 gold medals
second place 3 silver medals
third place 3 bronze medals

Rewards silver competition:
first place 2 gold medals
second place 2 silver medals
third place 2 bronze medals

Rewards bronze competition:
first place1 gold medals
second place 1 silver medals
third place 1 bronze medals

With this system at least all get a change to get some medals, so more players gets the feeling they do it for something.

Also the balance in fights can be better because you cant get a server against you that have 5 times more w vs w players, unless they all choose to transfer, what probely never will happen.

I hope you all like this idea.

Hello.

Have to admit I don’t like the idea, some of the reasons why:

* You’re increasing the number of servers when we already have a population problem (NA is 24, EU is 27, and your system suggests 27, so NA would have to gain 3 more servers. When the bottom servers already are underpopulated).
* There is no reason in this system to not stack higher servers.
* There is no reason to go to lower tier servers, because all rewards are higher in the higher tiers.
* The shifting of tiers is so slow that people would probably rather grind gold and transfer.
* Also I have no idea what the medals does other than bragging rights ?

If you want to make a difference between the tiers (gold, silver, bronze), I personally think there should be a difference in the gameplay, and completely separate them from each others. This will have its own problems of course, but for example:

Gold: Mostly as is, perhaps even a bit higher map limit. The full zerg experience.

Silver: Reduce the map cap down to 60 or so, and advertise silver as "a bit of everything server", some zergs, some roaming, some havoc groups, some defense etc.

Copper: Reduce the map limit down to 40, and say that the bronze servers are the no zerg land, small groups, havoc etc.

Lock them so that gold, silver and bronze are separate from each others. And let people get a free transfer to another tier (once every 6 months or so). This would at least make the tiers feel different from each-other. And let people pick a tier depending on what kind of game experience they where after. Would also work best if cut down the servers to 6in each tier, so total 18 servers (with current population).

Naturally this has a whole bunch of other problems. Just throwing out a different idea to ponder.
