Agreed. We’ve been red for 7 weeks now?? 6 weeks? I thought it was randomized.

esme, Maguuma was blue last week, red two before that, green, and blue.

However, Mag keeps getting paired up with TC. Out of the last 4 weeks, Mag has been against TC 3 times.

You should check europe.. where rank 14 servers are facing rank 3 for a 2nd time after new changes.. awesome work devon.

It is confusing, Anet! Either you should change EACH RESET colors based on position within the 3-team matchup, as you allegedly said you would, OR (preferred) you should either rotate on fixed schedule (like blue->green-red) or else, re-randomize the 3 colors with the 3 teams each reset.

It does not seem to me that either happens— instead, it seems very inconsistent!

In almost evry sport where there is a home base, things are rotated NOT based on who wins,but on a fixed schedule— consider football, tennis, basketball, et cetera. WHY NOT ROTATE POSITIONS AND COLORS EVERY RESET, please!

LOL, every single MMO out there experiences these kinds of server population imbalances and no one can find a way to balance it?

So many good suggestions have been made but not taken into consideration.

Hindsight is always clearer but ANET should have placed a population balancing cap at the release of their game for WvW . Meaning when 3 servers are matched up the second highest server within the group sets the cap limit (Total wvw population not map count) with lowest populated server receiving UM buff.

This would of helped prevent these problems:

1) Stacking of population on winning servers as queue would grow very long.
2) Skill lag to some extent as population is more spread evenly across all servers.
3) Competition would be more based on strategy, teamwork, and skill not on
Coverage and population.
4) Lack of variety of matchups.
5) Balanced growth of player achievements + WvW abilities through all servers
(Stacked servers have a huge advantage as they can lvl up WXP far easier with
massive zergs. Devs should seriously look at WXP level comparison between high
and low tier servers).

Just saying that I hope future MMORPG’s look at the problems that have been occurring repetitively throughout history and take note to prevent these…….

Maguumans shouldn’t kitten about being at a disadvantage. Being the weakest server in the matchup over and over and over is what made Maguuma what it is. Suck it up and kill some baddies.

Guys,come for a week to EU to RoF. We fight with “higher tier” servers for several week now.
Rank #16 and #17 fight #21. Sweet.
Look at poor Ruinds of Surmia or Fissure of Woe or Dzagonur.
Lat week Fort Ranik stomped us with infinite numbers. Hell they outnumber us on every single map. This week they are stomped too.
I would rather fight several weeks with same enemy if the matchup will be even.

Crying? It was an attempt at humor but I realize how humor doesn’t always translate well when typed. Honestly I am kinda enjoying it….I would much rather be on this side than the other. Being the larger side just gets boring after a while.

Mag will have to really tank this matchup to lose rating points. As it usually is when a lower tier server goes against a higher tier server, the higher tier server (TC) will lose rating points, unless they spawn camp or lie in wait at Mags breakout towers. Mag will gain rating points, which makes the possibility of future matchups with TC more likely.

Does it make you want the old matchup of Mag/SoS/CD week after week after week?

Fully agree the colors/positions needing to be more random. Anvil Rock as far as I know hasn’t had green since the middle of March. I have several guildies needing just that area for world completion. One even transferred for a week a while back just to get the explore done for her legendary.

Impossible. Blackgate and SoR can’t be separated.

Or they could start matching servers up by population? rather then this broken system they have now

Impossible. Blackgate and SoR can’t be separated.

I always thought BG was official SoR content.

This would be less of an issue if server populations were more balanced.

Arenanet likes to talk about there being no pay2win in this game, meanwhile people just keep transferring up and up and up.

They should just combine the smaller servers into a high population server but of course they wont – the money they get from Server transfers is to nice for them to consider HELPING the players.
