WVW Population
Edge of the Mists is not WvW. It is meant to be an overflow from the real World vs World maps when they are queued or full but is used by players to level and karma train.
Overgrowth is the addition of all servers that are playing green in WvW during that week. Green servers are the servers that are more than likely the top of the current match-up so they are generally going to be the larger servers.
Blue (whatever they are called) are the servers that get second.
Red (whatever they are called starts with a are the servers that are probably getting third and are then most likely the smallest.
Edge of the mist needs not re-balancing because it wasn’t meant to be a game mode in and of itself. All it does is take players from the lower tier servers who could be in WvW playing the actual game mode and makes the population disparity worse because the top servers are still full.
No worries though with the influx in new players recently many don’t know that Edge of the Mists is not a part of the WvW. Just a heads up that you might get poked at. True WvW does need population balancing of some kind as well but that is a different story. If Anet made it free to transfer to #24 and incrementally more expensive as you go up that may help but they tend to do odd transfer prices that make no sense and make it free to transfer to Fort Aspenwood or Maguuma or Blackgate. (I don’t think free transfers to these servers have actually happened but giving free transfers to the bottom server in gold before a season is silly as you are taking more players from lower and making the disparity worse).

Ahaaaaa so that’s how it works… And you’ve guessed right, I’m quite new, lol. Hmmmm interesting…

I do not understand what your “because” is based on.
- Why has an overflow to be unbalanced? To provide more and easier EotM-baggies to the WvW-winning side?
- Unbalance in EotM increases imbalance in WvW, in EU a lot of people transferred to SFR because that easy leveling in EotM, boosting the SFR WvW-team further when they finished leveling. Is this boost needed and necessary?
- As you wrote green is likely composed out of the strongest WvW-teams, is this why they urgently need a further boost by free resources from eotm?
- Even if EotM was originally added as overflow, it developed into an own game mode. And if you do not like how the people play in EotM, why do you want them to be in the game mode you like?
- WvW-maps are empty (less than 30 people per team hopping over 4 maps in a PvD-race) in lower tiers from 0:00-18:00. How is this any better than the Karma-train in EotM?
- If you randomly join a WvW-map in lower tier from 0:00-18:00 you are quite often the only one of your team on this map at least no one answer your “Someone here to take a tower” question. This is much better in EotM, you find at least a handful of people to play with even if you are not green (or SFR-side, if they aren’t green in EU).

Since there is no server identity at EOTM, why not break the relation to real WWW servers. Just randomly assign colors to players to balance that overflow. Sure you may not be able to play in the same team with your friends, but it might be fun to kill them as well

Ye, but u miss some fact, lot of ppl use it as supposed – overflow when they queues. For example bunch of friends playing together can’t get into border so they go to eotm. Same apply for guilds when they can;t get into border they find some guild and go eotm to fight them.
